I want to go to a dance party at the only gay bar in town tonight but I'm supposed to work.
I could easily call out, and I have plenty of sick time available. But with this being a smaller city that has only one gay bar, I'm much more likely to get caught and get written up for improper use of sick leave. Plus, my first job that I worked enough to actually have called out, the manager just wouldn't let me call out. Like, I'd try, and she'd just say no, I need you to come in anyway, and then yell at me for trying to call out when I know theres no one to cover for me. So, even though that was years ago and an entirely different job, I'm still really paranoid that I'm not going to be allowed to call out or that I'll get in trouble for it.
#like#ive been at this store for 6 months#4 and a half years with the company#and this would be the first time since i transferred here that I'd be calling out#and like weve got a guy who either calls out or just doesnt show up way more often than he actually works#and hes been doing thag for 9 months and hasnt gotten so much as a write up#so i know I'd be fine#but i cant shake the fear of getting in trouble#and i hate that im genuinely considering skipping out on celebrating pride month because of it#but also it might not be worth going because even though ive been going to this bar on my nights off pretty regularly#i still dont know anyone#and ive got that vampire autism where i cant join a conversation or activity without being invited#and its not super fun to go to a bar and sit at a table alone#so maybe i should just go to work and at least make a bit more money than id get from using sick time

So, ever since the reveal that "Death" was actually the real Fami... How about Asking out and First Date with Fami, like the one you did with (Death) Fami? I loved the Fami part in your babysitting fic, so a backstory to how she met her boyfriend would be nice, and to see if it changed her goal to "save" humanity now that she's with the love of her life
First meeting with fami

Pairing:(famine devil) fami x male reader
A/n:I kinda changed the request from a first date to a first meeting because I had this ideas, I hope you still like it and please let me know if you do since I've seen the other requests
*squish*
The last ant in line died quickly, painlessly like every other time fami had "saved" something, she cleaned her blood soaked fingers against her school uniform and looked down again, disappointed to see that it was the last ant that she was going to save today
She sighed and sat on the ground not concerned about the dirt getting on her skirt and started thinking about what her older sister had told her the night prior
"Find love, that's my advice"
Fami slightly gritted her teeth at the memory and started thinking out loud
"Find love? What's that supposed to mean? And I can't even save humanity anymore? Am I supposed to just abandon my goal because she had a change of heart?"
She looked at her own reflection in the puddle that had formed because of the rain and saw that she had started crying without even realizing it, but she was used to this at that point
"...........I really am useless"
She sighed again and got up, dusting her skirt and starting to walk away from the courtyard but she was stopped by someone tapping her shoulder
"Sorry may I talk to you for a bit?"
She turned around and blushed intensely once she saw who was talking to her
Fami hadn't been on earth for long, but out of all of the humans she had seen while she was there, the man behind her was definitely the most handsome one
"O-oh w-what is it?"
"I saw you were here and wanted to talk to you, the way the other students were treating you just sucks and you seem lonely......n-no offense"
"N-no it's fine"
"I'm y/n by the way"
You held out your hand to her but she just stood there creating an embarrassing moment
"N-not one for handshakes? OK"
"Fami"
"Hm?"
"Please call me fami"
"Oh OK, that's a unique name, I like it"
Like almost everything you had said, somehow that too managed to make fami blush
"T-thanks"
"You want to take a walk?'
"Huh?"
"There's a park nearby, I don't want you to stay here all alone"
For some reason something deep within fami told her to answer affirmatively, that would become one of the best decision she had ever taken
"......ok, I'd like that"
"Great!"
You started to lead her to the park, and in the meantime the sun had started to set making for a beautiful sunset scenery
"So you're a transfer student right? Where are you from?"
Fami couldn't exactly say "from hell" so she just stayed silent thinking about an answer
"It's fine if you don't wanna tell me, am I being too intrusive?"
"N-no t-totally not I'm.....just like this"
"That's fine, by the way I can show you around town if you want"
".......why?"
"Didn't I already tell you? I don't like seeing you alone, I don't know if this makes sense but you give me the vibe like you need someone"
"......someone?"
"Like someone to talk to, maybe a friend"
"................"
"......o-oh sorry, I'm really being intrusive now aren't I? I'll leave if you want"
"......can we talk over there?"
Fami pointed at a bench nearby
"Sure"
You two sat on opposite ends and started looking at the nature
"It's really beautiful"
"What?"
"Life, it's sights like this that make getting out worth it, look at all the bees on the flowers, the sun is beautiful too"
She looked around and saw all that you were describing, even if she didn't particularly find the appeal
"Y-yeah"
"So what do you wanna talk about?"
"......what do you think makes life worth living?"
"Hm?"
"This world is full of tragedies, heartbreak, war and many other cruel things that humanity has to suffer.....wouldn't it be better to just save them from all of this suffering?"
".....wow.....that's a pretty deep conversation for a first date"
Fami turned towards you and blushed again both because of what you said and because she felt embarrassed bringing up such a topic
"O-oh s-sorry i-i didn't know why I said that.....W-WAIT FIRST DA-"
"I think it's meeting new people"
"......Eh?"
"Humanity has the beautiful power to connect to one another, they form bonds that can last forever.....I genuinely think meeting people and forming bonds is what life is about"
"........what do you mean?"
"Even if life sucks for you there is at least one person who cares about you and wants to help you......I'm sure that everyone has at least one person who loves them and I think that's beautiful"
Love. There it was that word again, the word that had caused her to have that dilemma she was discussing with you, even she didn't know why.....but she wanted to know more about it
"Love......have you ever felt it?"
"I think every human has at some point"
"And how does it feel like?"
".......it's hard to explain....but I'd say it's when you have the purest bond you could have with a person....it's when you feel like you could have everything you ever wanted but if the person you love wasn't there you still wouldn't be happy"
"....so love makes you happy?"
"It's more than that, it's feeling at peace with someone, like you could tell them everything without being embarrassed, like you would do anything to make them happy, it's a need to protect them to love them......it's smiling just because you're near them, it's being happy for no reason just because they're happy"
"..............."
"It's changing completely and being willing to let that person change you for the better"
That sentence hit her in the heart and made her ask herself even more questions. Is this what had happened to her sisters? Were they changed by love too? Was a human emotion capable of changing a devil and making them abandon their goals just to be with that person? And more importantly what was that weird warmth in her stomach? It felt.....nice.....and for some reason it made her feel like she could tell you anything, she didn't care if there was a chance of you figuring out she wasn't human just talking with you felt right, like she agreed with everything you said even if went against her entire existence and goals up until now
"Is love....truly such a beautiful feeling?"
"I think it's the best in the world"
"..........I....I think I understand now"
"I'm glad I'm happy I could help you with your dilemma"
You glanced at your watch and gasped seeing the hour
"Oh crap I'm late, my parents are gonna be so mad, sorry fami but I gotta go, talking to you made me lose track of time, it was great though"
"Y-you're leaving?"
For some reason you leaving her alone felt wrong to fami. She wanted to talk to you more, to stay with you more, maybe to hold hands while she talked about whatever came to mind, maybe hold each other to keep you warm, she wanted to laugh with you and for you to wipe her constant tears she didn't know why all these thoughts were flooding her mind but she couldn't care less, they all felt so right.....being near you felt so right....she didn't want you to leave her
"W-wait!"
She held your arm with both of her hands to try and stop you from leaving tears now fully streaming from her eyes
"Hm? What's wrong fami?"
Right now she was touching you. She could have drained your life and saved you from suffering, she could have completed her goal of saving another human from this cruel world..........
"I really.....want to talk to you again"
But she didn't
"Really?"
"Y-yes please! Sorry if I'm pushy but I really really want to see you again.....talking with you....being with you.....it feels really good"
Now it was your turn to blush at her words but you brushed it off quickly and smiled
"Of course, I'm your classmate anyway plus we're friends now"
"....f-friends?"
"Yep! Talking with you feels great too, so we can see each other as much as you'd like"
".......i-i'd like that......a lot"
"You look so cute when you smile"
"H-huh!?"
Fami now realized she was blushing and smiling
"You cry a lot, not that I mind but are you sure you're alright?"
"Y-yeah i-it's just something that happens"
"Here"
She saw you holding a packet of tissues out to her
"N-no please I don't need-"
"Take this as a sign of our friendship"
"W-what?"
"I'm giving you my tissues without expecting them back so you can use them how much you want. I want you to remember that I'm here for you even if not physically"
"........y/n......"
"I can tell you need someone to understand you and comfort you.......and I'm willing to be that person.....so it was nice to meet you see you tomorrow!"
"O-oh y-yeah see you!"
Seeing you walk away made her tear up a bit, but she quickly wiped the water with her new tissues, she put the packet near her chest and smiled brightly
She didn't fully understand what happened to her that day but she knew that the man she had just met would change her life forever this was the first time she had willingly chosen to let a human live and refused to save them. All because she wanted to stay with you, to talk to you more being responsible for your death made her feel sadder than usual and if what you said was true than she would have felt the same "saving" any other human
She sighed and put the tissues in her pockets, making sure not to mess up or crush what was now one of her most prized possessions
Walking down the path of stone, she realized night had fallen and the moon was fully out......it was beautiful....truly breathtaking, looking at it made her want to tear up but she controlled herself to not use up all of her tissues on the first day she got them
She thought about all of the things death had said to her the night before and smiled brightly
"I think.......I found love"

Rise of the Goth

Victoria had been having issues at school, really she had been having issues since she was a kid, always feeling out of place. Not fitting in where others would easily be apart of a crowd. Sure she knew that was high school but now in college it almost felt like the same thing. She attended one of the states largest schools, it had a huge campus, over 25k students attending, so she had to feel like something was there for her. And she thought she had found it, she started in a few clubs, met some really amazing people, and even started to date this nice guy. They were happy for 4 months, the longest she had ever been with someone. And until a week ago that was the best thing for her. Then her former bully from school, Amber had started to seem to be circling around her more. She noticed Amber on her way to classes, hanging around dorms and she had no clue why. Until one afternoon she was walking out of class and saw Amber making out with a guy, it was more than making out, Amber was straddling the guy on a bench and kissing him, it was so close to being lewd. Then she noticed his shirt, it was a shirt she had bought her boyfriend, then Amber flipped her hair back and she saw him, her boyfriend happily cupping Amber's tits and looking up at her with the goofy grin. Victoria screamed, Josh looked over in a shock, he pushed Amber to the side, stumbling to get to her, he was trying to explain, trying to tell her it wasn't what she thought. Josh was followed by Amber who pulled out her phone to show a weeks worth of pictures of her and Josh. Victoria started to put things together. She screamed again and stormed off. There was a laughter that just lingered in Victoria's head, the laughter of Amber, the bitchy, spoil, self centered laughter and it burned into her. 2 days she ghosted calls from Josh, she never wanted to hear his voice again, never wanted to see his face, or feel his touch. She hated him, she hated him for giving into the blonde menace. And she wanted revenge on her. She felt anger, she felt hate, and until she could calm down it boiled inside her. Another 2 days and Josh finally got the hint, he stopped calling, he unfriended her on all socials. Victoria could only sit and watch as her world started to fall apart. She had what she thought was everything and now she had nothing. Then the dreams started. The first night of dreams it was just blackness. The second night, was blackness but she felt like something was moving around her. She woke up in a cold sweat. Night three, she heard laughter around her, walking around her, stalking her. She screamed into the darkness and whatever it was laughed back more. Night four, she felt nothing, she was alone in the dark. Night five, she felt the presence again. Night six, she could feel something touch her but she turned to look and it was gone. Night seven, was when she saw something emerge from the dark.

"What are you?" The voice was weird, like someone talking in water, "I am desire, I am darkness, I am here to help, if you wish it." "Why would you help me?" "Why wouldn't I? You are hurt, you are in pain, and I can help ease your pain and suffering." "How would you do that?" "I'd give you the means to help yourself, to transfer that pain to someone else." "I wouldn't wanna do that. No one deserves to be hurt. Can't you just take the pain away?" "Like energy or matter, it can not be destroyed it can be changed or exchanged." Victoria was listening but not really understanding, she tried to follow along but said "I guess." "Who hurt you?" "My boyfriend, that slut Amber." "And what if I could help you hurt your boyfriend, and make Amber never be able to hurt you again?" She bit her lip, thinking about this, she could feel her heart racing. "Has this been you the whole time in my dreams?" "Yes and no, my family, they have tried to visit, but only the one of use who could help would be the one you could see," the being said, lying to her of course. But in Victoria's state of sadness and anger she would believe almost anything. "Fine if I let you help me, what will happen?" "You just have to wake up, and you will see some changes in your life and then some more changes over the next day and then we can talk about your ex and your friend." "Amber isn't my friend." "Of course, my mistake, now are we agreed?" "Yes fine." The being reached out to shake her hand, Victoria took it, felt a burning sensation in her palm and gasped as she woke up. The sun was out and she looked around, "what the fuck" she said then heard her voice, it was different, more sultry and alluring. She looked down and noticed her body was different.
Her breasts had grown, and there were tattoos on her arms, her hips were a little wider and she had an ass, not a flat one but actual curves. It was amazing, she was excited. What she should have been was scared at the fact something was able to change her like this. But this wasn't what was on her mind. What was on her mind was revenge. She started think of a plan, she could go after her ex, but Josh would be too easy to ruin, the minute she called, he would come running to talk to her, to apologize. She knew that wouldn't be too much fun. Instead she set her sights on Amber, that would be more of a hunt, something worthwhile and someone who would be torn down to the very ground she thought she owned just for being alive. She had a feeling by tonight she would be ready. Across Campus
Amber was in the sorority house getting ready for another beautiful day. She had blonde hair, big tits and the perfect look for luring men into her grasp. She did it all through high school and even more in college. She had 3 different boyfriends, all who would give her anything she wanted just because she hot and they could be around one of the hottest girls on campus. Of course they didn't know she was dating other guys, some of the sorority sisters knew of course but to them they thought it was funny how easily Amber could control men. She rolled over in her bed, and texted each of the guys, telling them she was awake, telling them she wanted to go shopping today to buy some surprise naughty stuff for their upcoming dates. Each one sent her at least 100 bucks, because that's what she asked for. Josh sent her 150 because he was the newest guy she was seeing and he was trying to make her want him, he was worried after his last girlfriend and him broke up that Amber was going to dump him too, so he sent more to make sure she was staying with him. Amber laughed at all these boys sending money. She got out of bed and started to get ready to go shopping, she wasn't spending her money of course, which made it so much more fun. Across Campus
Hours later and Victoria was feeling herself changing more. It was thrilling, she was becoming hotter, and felt like she was becoming more powerful as well. She moved in front of the mirror and smirked at her new look.
She found her clothes changed, new tattoos formed and everything just gave her a new look on life. Victoria that girl who was walked all over was gone. Vicki was here to stay. She felt this weird sense of knowledge in her mind, that Amber was leaving to go to the mall, she also seemed to know Josh was at his dorm hard at work. She licked her lips, a trip to the mall was in order. Her prey was going to be there. At the mall, Vicki could sense Amber now, she was close. It only took her a few minutes to start to shadow her. Walking through the halls, no one seemed to notice the hot gothic chick stalking this bubbly sorority slut. All eyes were on Amber of course. Rage filled Vicki and she knew the time to strike was now. Amber was walking into a dressing room, Vicki moved in behind her, pushing her against the wall. "What the fuck, you bitch get off me." Vicki's eyes blackened for a second, "No, you're mine," and leaned in and kissed Amber. Vicki felt Amber fight back against the kiss for about a second or two before she started to kiss back. Amber moaned as Vicki moved back and smiled. "Who are you?" Amber asked, feeling light headed, looking at the woman who forced her into a kiss. Vicki smiled, something wicked in her heart and she stared "I am your new mistress, you can fight it, but in a few days you will be all mine." "Fuck you," she said but there was no real feeling behind it, Amber couldn't seem to put the normal strong emotion behind the yell. She pushed past the gothic girl and ran out to her car to head back to the sorority. Amber couldn't stop thinking of the girl, she didn't even know the chick's name, she wanted to call the cops, wanted to claim assault but would anyone believe it? She was so upset she cancelled her date with Derek, and texted the other 2 guys that she wasn't feeling that well and that she would be turning in early and not to text her until she texted them back. She talked to the sisters in the group chat, saying she was feeling ill and wouldn't be able to do her mandatory chores tonight and maybe tomorrow but she would take over for another girl if they were willing to swap for a few days. A couple girls agreed and Amber rolled over into a deep sleep for the night. The next day Amber woke up in a sweat, the goth girl kissing her, just played over and over in her mind. She went over to find some meds to help her relax when she saw herself in the mirror.
Amber was shocked. Tattoos, dark hair, what the fuck was happening to her. This wasn't who she was. She brought her fingers up to her lips, touching them as she kept thinking about the kiss, and noticed her nails were black too. She wanted to scream, wanted to yell but something in her mind kept saying she was Mistress's Toy. Amber was even more scared, thoughts of being with another girl were never something she wanted but now thinking of the goth girl was getting her wet. She wanted to be touched, held, kissed by her Mistress.....no she couldn't think like that, she wasn't like that. That wasn't her. She had to stay hidden in her room, away from people, this will go away, or she would have to figure out what was happening to her. She pulled out her laptop and started to look up things. Trying to figure this out. Later that Evening
The music at the club was thumping. The bass was beating through the bodies of all the people on the dance floor. Vicki was dancing but off to the side, she was watching the crowd. She was waiting to see the man she texted earlier. She had texted Josh, telling him she was going to be at the club, which was a shock to him, but she said this was his one chance to talk to her.
Of course she was never going to talk to him, at least not as Victoria, that version of her was gone. What she was going to do was flirt with him, tease him. He wouldn't have any clue who she was. She was going to make him obsessed with her but was never going to let him have her. It wasn't that difficult either, he was like a moth to the flame as soon as she winked at him from the side of the room. There were already a lot guys eyeing her up and down, but when he was winked at, he thought she was into him. She laughed as she kept flirting with other guys knowing how easy it was to break him. It wasn't even going to take her a night. Another wink and Josh had sent her a drink. Another wink and he meekly walked over to talk to her. She walked away with another guy, but kept eye contact like she was showing that she wasn't into the well dressed man. Josh had no clue he was on her hook and that thrilled her even more. After teasing close to a dozen men that night, Vicki headed home, feeling aroused from all the sexual frustration she had caused all these men. She laid in bed, wondering how her real prize was coming. She would know by tomorrow. THE NEXT DAY
Amber woke up the next day, she looked around, and felt out of place in the sorority house. She stood up and got dressed, it was dark out and the room was pitch black. She finally turned on the light and saw her newself. She blinked and had it been a mere 2 hours prior her mind would have still been its former self, now she was merely a toy. She moved to the mirror and took a selfie, and sent it to a number that she seemed to know.
She sent a message. "Mistress, your toy is ready, how do I look?" Vicki got the message, staring at the new gothic beauty. She smiled, "Such a good toy, come to Mistress." Amber got up, walking out the room and out of the sorority house, she knew in her mind and body where to go. It took her about 20 mins to walk there but soon she arrived. Vicki smiled, "You look perfect my dear." "Thank you," she bowed and stepped part Vicki into the house, starting a new life as a toy to be used.

Did you ever write more to the "vader finds out that leia I'd his daughter" story?
No but it’s been percolating in my head for a while so let’s go
(continuing from this)
The first thing Vader does is cover his tracks. Wipes the security cameras for the whole cell block, wipes the prisoner logs, makes sure that no trace of Leia’s capture or escape will be in the files synced daily with Imperial Center. Puts in transfer orders for that nervous junior officer to somewhere very far away and very quiet. Saves only one short vid clip, to the secret hard drive hidden in his own respirator.
I’m Luke Skywalker. I’m here to rescue you.
While he’s doing this, his children (children! plural!) are getting themselves into trouble, and out again. Apparently the trash compactor was involved. He will have more footage to scrub. Somehow they’ve acquired a Wookie.
Kenobi is with them.
Vader should have foreseen this. Of course, Kenobi.
His presence saturates the Force, nearly drowning out Luke— and Leia, too, now that Vader knows to look. It’s enough to break Vader free from the chill of shock, his rightful fury seen as through a window right up until it shatters, and engulfs him again.
But he forces it back. He wants answers, before he kills Kenobi.
(I’m Luke Skywalker. I’m here to rescue you.)
He hasn’t played the clip again, but it echoes in his ears nonetheless.
When he faces Kenobi, Vader is still off-balance. Kenobi seems as calm, as unruffled as he ever did, though he’s far too obvious in buying time for Leia and Luke to attempt an escape.
Vader asks him: “Do they know?”
“You’ll have to be more specific,” Kenobi says, light and unconvincing.
“You kept them from me,” Vader says, and that is a thought that feeds the Dark, that lets him hammer at Kenobi’s saber until he’s nearly past his guard—
“I kept them from your master,” Kenobi says, his voice still even and pleasant and false, hardly betraying his exertion.
“I’ll kill you for this,” Vader vows.
“I expect so,” says Kenobi. “I swore I’d die before I let Palpatine harm another child in my care. If dying will keep them from him, it’s well worth the cost.”
(I’m Luke Skywalker. I’m here to rescue you.)
By the end of this speech Kenobi recovers a little of his old skill, turning Vader’s blows aside instead of merely bearing up under their weight. Too soon, Vader falters, losing the momentum of rage. They both fall back to defensive positions. Any living troopers have long since cleared the area; the whole deck is a ruin of saber gouges and shattered armor.
Vader rarely speaks without thinking. The nature of his breathing apparatus makes this a necessity, more often than not. But the words escape him anyway.
“Who named them?”
And now Kenobi is the one who falters. It is satisfying, if short-lived. “Their mother,” he says. “With her last breaths.”
A long time ago — a lifetime away — there was a list of names. Two lists, really, to start with, and then another of the names held in common to both. No record of it survives, not even on the hard drive hidden next to Vader’s heart.
On Naboo, children are often named for virtues. A child might be called Aluuk, for kindness, or Alié, for wisdom.
On Tatooine, a child’s name is the parent’s hope for its future. Perhaps Lukka would grow to be free; perhaps Leyah would grow to be fierce.
And perhaps they have. Vader does not know. Kenobi took that from him.
Vader won’t kill him yet, though. He still has questions.

"YOU ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL."

all images were taken from pinterest.
where they meet for the first time.
pairing: omar marmoush x reader!
a/n: i really hope you like it <3! i won't be able to post tomorrow, so I brought the post forward to today, only two numbers left. let me know if you want a continuation of this story.
𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐬
"You can wait for him here." A City official took me to a waiting room on the club grounds. "Thank you!" I said as I sat down in one of the available chairs, observing the environment around me.
My brother is about to sign a contract with the Manchester City youth team, something that has made me cry every day since he told me. It's not that I don't want him to play here, that wouldn't be a problem, I'm not a football person. I only cry because I'm proud of my brother, I cry because I'm proud of him because I know how hard he worked to get to a club like this.
"Marmoush, man!" My brother was walking towards me when he met a man in the middle of the road, judging by his clothing, he must be a player like him. "My little brother, How are you? I'm happy to know that I'll be sharing the training center with a familiar face." My brother received a pat on the shoulder. "You'll see, next season I'll be playing with you, by your side." my brother smiled.
George's eyes, my dear brother, finally meet mine. "Oh, come on Omar! Let me introduce you to my sister." He said, pointing at me and then walking towards me. And I could see the face of the man he was talking to. I have no words to describe what I was seeing, I felt my heart skip a beat when that man looked at me.
I would say that his picture should be shown when people ask the meaning of the word beauty. The almond-shaped eyes, the curly hair, the tanned skin... I swallowed hard when he stopped in front of me and smiled.
"Marmoush, this is my sister and little sister, this is Marmoush the Egyptian legend." Marmoush extended his hand to shake mine, my eyes slowly moving from his face to his hand. "Are you the older brother?" he asked George. "It's just me and her, and she's older." The player nodded and turned his gaze to me again, I had already let go of his hand.
"George, can you come here please?" Someone from the club called my brother back to the small room where he was before. "I'll wait for you here, mate! I want to talk to you." Marmoush said as he sat down in the available chair next to me, my brother just nodded and walked into the room.
I swallowed again as the Egyptian smiled at me again. "Did you live with him back in Dortmund?" He questioned. "Yes, I've lived in Germany since before he was born." I explained, it was the first time I'd opened my mouth since the minute he appeared in front of me. "Cool, I met him there! I played for Frankfurt until a month ago, you brother is a good kid." He said "My mother educated us very well." I joked. "Are you going to live here with him too?" he questioned once more. "I don't know yet, I'll have to ask for a job transfer if my mother can't move here with him." He nodded "But don't worry, I'll take care of your brother! I'll get him in line." he made me laugh "I'll be grateful."
My mom texted me to ask how things were going. I told her he was still undergoing medical exams and that I would send her a photo as soon as he went to the office to sign the contract. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Omar also playing with his phone.
"Do you have any recommendations for a good restaurant around here, would you like to have dinner out tonight?" He broke the silence "Look, last night I went to a really good one near the hotel we're staying at, I just don't remember the name, but I can look it up for you." he nodded "But I think it will be a little difficult to find an empty restaurant on Valentine's Day, but try calling to make a reservation." he grimaced "I had forgotten what day it was." I chuckled "Your girlfriend will be upset with you." I assume this man is not single, someone like him is hardly ever alone "I don't have a girlfriend, I'll have to have dinner alone today." I was wrong. "I understand you." He looked at me a little surprised and smiled.
"What? Why did you make that face?" I asked in a relaxed tone."I thought you weren't single." I raised an eyebrow. "Why?" I asked. "You are very beautiful." I was speechless. My brother left the room and I didn't even see him, I remained motionless in the chair, mentally repeating what Marmoush had told me. "Let's have dinner together sometime." Marmoush's voice talking to my brother snapped me out of my trance. "Just text me." he replied. "Okay, and don't forget to bring your sister?" My brother looked at him suspiciously. "Okay, I doubt she'll go but okay."
Marmoush said goodbye to us and headed toward another hallway. My brother noticed that I was acting weird and started asking me a million questions, but I had to hide it by saying that I was excited about his achievement, which wasn't a lie. But Marmoush messed with my head.
A notification arrived on my cell phone, I thought it was my mother, but it was a notification from Instagram, "you have a new follower." Omar Marmoush just followed me.
I will definitely have to see this man again.

Hi!! Hope you're having a wonderful day/night!!
I was going through your recommendation list and since I didn't see it, I'd like to recommend Reanimated heart vn to you!! It's my number one most beloved VN and it's extremely well written!! It's also partially voice acted and has a really cool character journal and inventory system!! And one of the LI Vincenzo is also a yandere!!
I feel like you may like it!!
Phew you were right this is a really well made game. It took me a bit to play it because despite it only really going over the prologue/first chapter (or from what I heard, half of it) there's a ton of content within it (that and while I was playing it, there was an update, so there's that as well.) Since there's not a guide currently and I'm kind of useless without a guide, I did my best to see as much of the content as possible. Vincenzo definitely shows signs of being a yandere (along with Black) though since this is just a prologue, not too much has gone on yet. This game has pretty extensive worldbuilding as well and can get pretty gory at times, thus the r18 rating. You can find more information @doubledeadstudio.
This game is pretty lengthy and you can actually pursue three love interests (Crux, Black and Vincenzo). Since Vincenzo is the main topic of this ask, I'll be focusing my time on him, though I'll still mention things from Black's route as well. The blog also mentions that Crux might be one as well, though at least currently in the game I don't really see too many signs of it, but I can theorize near the end.
The story starts out with Moss/Player (default name, though Moss sounds better so I'm going to just use Moss) trying to escape as the world devolves into violence and chaos, riots everywhere. While leaving, they are hit by a car, but instead of actually dying, they instead get isekaied to another world with a green sky and a giant tree in the center (like yggsdril) before being jumpscared by a guy with a lot of teeth looming over them. They are eventually caught by two guys after attempting to run away, Black, the one who jumpscared Moss and is now a zombie and Crux, the mage who brought him there. Crux explains whats going on to a confused Moss and Black. Basically, Crux and Black were friends in the original world. Black died from trying to save a girl from getting shot and the Crux from the original world had set up a spell in advanced to get him revived. However, Moss ended up interfering by accident, leading to the two of them being transferred to this world with no way out and for Black to essentially become a zombie. Crux as a mage is able to be aware of his other selves in other worlds, which is why he knows about all of this, though now that they're both stuck here, they have to find places to live. Crux sets up Black in a recently deceased person's house and Moss with a friend named Greta, whose mother had just recently died. Upon going to Greta's place, we learn a little big more about the world that they have transported to: magic is something that everyone has (which is given by the giant tree), there are magical creatures here, people who come here from other worlds are called outsiders and that apparently Moss does have some sort of powers (this is more implied though). We also learn about Greta herself, as she sells weed to pay for rent (which later can become Moss's part time job), she and her mother had a close relationship (thus the reason that she wanted someone to be in the house, as it was too lonely to bare without her) and that she's generally fairly somber in nature, though takes care of Moss fairly well by providing meals and other things. After setting up, Moss heads to sleep.
The next day, Black asks to meet up with Moss downtown and upon meeting up with him, we learn that Black seems to not really eat normal food anymore nor really sleep or have a heartbeat, though he seems to have a great craving for humans (as a zombie would) and decides that eating the guy who ran Moss over is a good idea. The two end up tracking the guy into an abandoned factory. However, upon getting there we find that someone else has already gotten to him first, and quite literally, as someone is already killing and ripping this man apart into flesh and other pieces. We are met by Vincenzo, the killer and Black ends up eating the remains of the person. After going back and sleeping, the next day Crux basically gets Moss to get a job and start pulling their weight by running deliveries for Greta. Crux ends up driving them to many places to run their deliveries and chatting about what happened the day before. With this we learn a couple of things about Vincenzo: that he's a well known serial killer that has a lot of copycats, that even when killed he is able to somehow revive and continue killing people and that there's a lot of people who fangirl/find him hot. After this you can choose the route that you'll be going for.
So we'll be going for Vincenzo's route first. Moss gets curious about the fact that Vincenzo can regenerate and thus goes back to the abandoned factory to check it out. However, before even getting there and reaching downtown, they are caught by Vincenzo and brought to the factory after passing out. Upon waking up, Moss is bound to a chair with Vincenzo lying his head on their lap. He seems to have taken an interest in Moss seeing that they seem to have basically materialized out of nowhere and pretty much claims them as his. He recounts how similar the two were, that he too was captured by a military general and bound into the dark for years, eventually falling in love and killing him. After questioning him and his intentions with Black (he best responds to obedient answers and betraying Black, it seems) and eventually Moss is forced to be his toy (or killed otherwise) through a ring created by magic that binds the two together.
After heading out and hanging out with Greta more (or going to your bedroom), you are brought by Crux the next day to join a volunteer/rebellion group where we meet Asha, a person we actually delivered to previously. Hana, the leader of the organization introduces everyone to the Evergreen Volunteer Organization where they house people who are homeless, help out in soup kitchen and pick litter off the streets. Crux and Black immediately start asking a bunch of questions including pointing out the lack of members in the group, and why they aren't doing more to actually oppose the government wrongdoings (mostly because people are terrified of Vincenzo which has killed off a lot of their members), which really makes Hana think until a lady named Brandi comes out to basically kick Hana while she's down even more before Hana ultimately kicks her out. After watching Crux and Black bicker, Moss goes to comfort Hana, though Hana agrees that the questioning did help her realize that she has backpedaled in what their organization originally stood for and how far they've fallen and how she's changed since first starting the organization. Upon going back, Moss can either pass out or talk to Vincenzo about what they had done for the day. We can then go and talk with the various characters and run deliveries for Greta. Talking to Vincenzo, we can learn about his mutations and his living quarters (the mutation seems to be caused by a "deal" made with a powerful abomination so that he can have powers but also so the abomination can sort of puppet his body around.
Upon returning back, Greta asks Moss to help her get rid of a Mutie problem, basically a type of pest that is common there and is currently wrecking havoc on her lawn. She asks moss to go to the market to get something that can get rid of the mutie, and sends Moss on their way after giving them some money. After going through a strange ritual to get there, Moss encounters one of the shopkeepers, Missy and buys some things, most importantly a comic book about muties. Upon leaving, Moss runs into Crux who seems to have also wanted the comic as well. Seeing as the information is accurate, Crux proposes a trade where he'll get rid of the mutie in exchange for the comic book. Upon returning to Greta's house, we learn that muties are sort of spirits that have some sort of unfinished business, and after Crux pulls out some magical garments to allow the mutie to pass on, Moss gives him the comic book. Afterwards, Vincenzo tells Moss to meet him downtown (and ignoring this leads to something weird crawling inside of them at night). Upon meeting up with Vincenzo for this date, bringing moss to a table with a naked women tied up and basically tells Moss that they can do anything with her. You can then decide to try to let her go, rape her or kill her (Vincenzo responds best to killing her in a vicious way, which is pretty much what I did immediately because of course I did). Whether you are able to save this lady, kill her or otherwise defile her, the date eventually ends. The next day, Moss returns to the volunteer organization after seeing an email pretty much going full attack and petitioning a new law that had just came out by getting signatures. As a result, Black and Moss go out to get signatures from various places eventually finding two bodies at a construction site. After this, Moss gets a choice of where to work at, either at the same bar as Black, as a magical apprentice with Crux or continuing delivering for Grete.
After that you have freetime to visit people and buy things. We learn from Vincenzo that the two bodies are in fact not his killings but rather killings from a copycat killer, that he dated Crux before and that he has the ability to leave this world if he wants to. The next day you are presented with the opportunity to go to the protesting that Hana has organized or to skip it and end up helping Black with something. Either way, the next day, Moss heads downtown after Vincenzo summons them again, this time however, appearing as a woman. And here you can tell her your preferences for either form. Vincenzo remarks that Black has been arrested (whether you know that or not is based on the previous choice) and that Vincenzo wants to get revenge on the person who tried to impersonate her killings. After tracking down this Irving Dunham, Vincenzo gets you to become a distraction to get him out and so they can kidnap him. Vincenzo kidnapped him basically to see if there was any potential in him, though after he admits to killing his family, he ends up dying/bleeding by her hands. In the end, Vincenzo gives basically an upgraded ring to help Moss in case something happens to them.
Black's route mostly goes around the sudden transformation of being a zombie and his sense of morality as well as Moss visiting him while he's getting a tattoo. I won't go as detailed into it since other than him being overprotective over Moss (mostly because he feels guilty that he was the reason that Moss came here in the first place), we don't see to much of the yandere side of him (and the ask is more on Vincenzo rather than Black, I just thought I'd also mention him since at least stated on the tumblr page, he might also qualify as a yandere).
So yeah, anyways, this game is really well made. With just the game system alone there's an inventory and journal section and I love the way the UI is done (since I'm a sucker for cool UI in games) as the entire UI system is more reminiscent of a scrapbook. The world itself is also very cool too, with it's green skies and magic, definitely portrays a certain mood along with its themes of injustice, society, punk/rebel type of culture and others. Seriously, this world is genuinely very interesting and a lot of thought and effort was put into it. The characters too are all pretty fun to interact with, Crux is sly at times but still pretty caring, Black is more direct but has a soft side, Vincenzo has a genuine creepy feeling to him to contrast with his more charming personality, Asha has a very chill vibe, while Greta is more somber (for some reason she kind of reminds me of Elliot Reed) and then my favorite girl Hana is not only cute but commanding. I think its really nice that despite the fact that we're introduced to so many characters that they are all unique in a way that I can remember. There's a ton of concepts that get explored as well, from morality to mortality, to religion, and societal issues. It is very wild to me that this game isn't more popular than it is currently.
Considering this is just the prologue/first chapter, we don't really know the extent to how Vincenzo will evolve as a character and as a yandere. We see already that he had tendencies given his previous partners and the guard that imprisoned him, killing him out of love and we see that he has a sense of possessiveness to him, especially when Moss is claimed by him. He seems to enjoy violence over everything considering that he is a serial killer and likes obedience overall, as well as worry when Moss isn't around which is why he equips them with the ring near the end. As a yandere, I can see him more as a violent type and one that when when he grows an attachment is the type to either kill them (out of an overwhelming love, as we see with the guard) or to possibly become his partner in crime (for lack of a better word). I do see him having an obsession with the player given that at least in this route, Moss is thrown into more dire situations where they can be violent or otherwise evil and we can kind of see that corruption already taking place as the game goes on, even in just the prologue. Technically speaking I guess it wouldn't be so much as a strictly male yandere, but rather a genderfluid one since Vincenzo can be a girl, but I mean, you do in the end get to choose so given the option I'll just consider it a "male" yandere. But yeah, I see Vincenzo as a combination of a lot of types, more manipulative to a certain degree, violent for sure, unpredictable and always testing the player. Having this kind of serial killer yandere that can't be killed as well as having to experience the gore of such things in the game is pretty terrifying. Aside from that he also kidnaps and stalks people (including the player).
Black on the other hand is more overprotective if anything and we can already see that in the game so far. In a lot of places, he's worried about the player and will often defend them in many places, case in point: meeting Vincenzo for the first time. Much of his route is his struggles with his new zombie form, having not only having to eat humans to sustain himself but also to prevent himself from attacking Moss, even asking them to chain him up in the room. He always seems a bit ashamed in a sense to eat humans in front of the player and is always wanting to help. In a sense, Black is very similar to a guard dog, though at the moment it seems mostly out of guilt for dragging Moss into the world rather than having any romantic feelings for them. I think if there are any endings in the future that are yanderelike, it would probably be due to an overprotective action such as killing one of Moss's friends that might be a danger to them.
Crux is a little harder to decipher, but we do see more of his tender side in his route. While he is sly and manipulative, often stalking, hacking and reading through other people (such as Black's) history, we also see that he is very protective over his family. Crux is the type of guy who seems very does whatever he wants and goes with the flow, though he's clearly harboring another secret given that he seems to recognize Moss, but won't admit to it. Hard to say though since while Crux does take an interest in Moss during his route and we do have the option to kiss him, I just don't know enough right now to know if he's a yandere. Kind of an interesting thing to see in the future though!
Overall, really well made game/demo. I really like the atmosphere and the level of polish this game has and the characters are all fantastic. It'll be cool to see how the love interest in this story develop and hopefully show more of their yandere side as it goes.

Maybe something with Marc Guiu getting hate for transferring and him lashing out at reader but they make up in the end..? Thank you!
Marc's transfer to Chelsea came out of nowhere for the fans everyone in his life including me had known about it for a while but it was kept secret until things were official. I helped him decide what he wanted to do as it was a hard decision for him to leave Barcelona and all his family and friends. Together we went through every pro and every con of moving or staying and in the end Marc decided that he thought he had better opportunities if he moved to Chelsea and the premier league. It was a really hard decision for him to make and he thought about it for weeks and sometimes even sat up at night stressing over the decision before he finally made his decision and the deal was done.
Since his decision was made life has been incredibly chaotic Marc had to go to London to sign his contract and do all of the pictures for the announcement and of course me and his family went with him. Since then his family have gone back home but I stayed to help him find somewhere to live and to settle in. I was supposed to go back with his family but Marc begged me to stay as he didn't want to be alone in a new country where he doesn't know anyone so of course I had to stay with him. He wants me to live with him here but that's something I have to think about as it's a lot to leave my family behind and I was supposed to go to university back in Barcelona so I'd have to figure that out too plus Marc won't always be here when he has matches. Moving is something I'd told him I'd think about and staying with him is like a trial run to see what life would be like in London.
Today is a big day though it's the day that Marc is officially announced at Chelsea. He signed his contract a few days ago but the announcement is going out today which is really exciting. The announcement came a few hours after we woke up, I loved seeing all the content as I had no idea what they filmed. Marc also posted a statement thanking all the Barcelona fans and the club for what they've done with him. I thought it was a really sweet statement as I know how much the club and all of the fans mean to Marc but then I looked at the comments and realised other people didn't feel the same. There was a lot of hate comments calling Marc a traitor which hurt me and they aren't even about me. I then went down the rabbit hole of looking at more than just the comments on Marc's post I went on Twitter and saw that things were just as bad on there even on tiktok there was people hating on him.
For as long as I could I kept Marc off his phone so he could just enjoy his first official day as a Chelsea player but of course I could only keep him distracted for so long. He's had a smile on his face all day but once he started looking at his phone the smile went away. For a while he just scrolled and I couldn't stop him but eventually he put his phone down but even then his smile didn't come back and I knew he had been affected by the comments and he won't admit to it either. Marc always tries to pretend things don't affect him which at times is hard as he bottles things up until they get too much and I've been trying to get him to share his feelings with me but he just finds it difficult.
After Marc put his phone down he just wasn't the same he didn't talk to me pretty much all day he was just distant. I wanted to talk to him but I know that now is not the time he needs some time to think for himself before I can try and make him feel better.
~~~~~~~~~~
For the last few days Marc just hasn't been himself. He's been distant and cold and whenever I try and talk to him he is very short with me. He's been difficult to deal with I want to help him but I can't get anything out of him he doesn't let me talk for long enough to try and get him to admit that the comments have affected him. As much as it's been difficult I'm glad I'm here as I don't even know what Marc would be like if he had no one with him he'd probably still be scrolling through his phone and laying in bed all day.
This morning I decided enough was enough today is going to be the day that I get Marc to talk to me and admit that the comments have hurt him. I can't just talk to him as soon as he wakes up though unless I want him to snap at me so I got up and made breakfast for us so he can eat before I try and talk to him. Like always he went to the gym first thing this morning but by the time he was back I had finished breakfast. For once he actually smiled at me when he came in which is definitely progress and he even kissed my cheek so maybe he's starting to get over the comments.
After breakfast he went to shower so I got dressed then started to pace around the apartment thinking about what I'm going to say to Marc. If he's starting to forget about the comments I don't want to make him feel worse but I want him to let me in and tell me how he's feeling. The comments were awful and they shocked me so I know they will have hurt Marc but I don't know how much until I get him to open up. Once he got out the shower he came to join me on the sofa where we sat in silence for a minute until I figured out how to start this conversation.
"What's been going through your mind the last few days?" I asked
"Nothing" he said
"Come on please let me in you haven't been yourself since the announcement and it's starting to hurt me too" I said
"It's nothing" he said slightly angrier this time
"Please Marc you can't keep doing this I'm here to listen to your feelings and make you feel better pushing me away and snapping at me when I try to talk to you won't make it any better and I can't put up with this forever you want me to move here with you but if this is what it will be like I don't think I can do that" I said trying to make him realise that his actions don't just affect him
"I know but it's just so dumb you'll laugh at me" he said finally giving in
"I would never laugh at something that's upsetting you it can be the stupidest thing ever and I wouldn't laugh" I reassured him
"Those comments they got to me I couldn't be more thankful to barcelona and the fans but they think I've betrayed them and that hurts I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Barcelona the club will always be part of my life and my heart and now it just feels like I've made the wrong decision" he admitted
"You haven't made the wrong choice the people saying those things aren't real fans the real fans will support you and see that you made this decision as you thought it was best I've seen so many people wishing you the best now that it's not such a shock I promise that everyone important in your life doesn't think you've betrayed barca" I said
"I know it just feels awful to think I've let some people down" he said
"And it's ok to feel that way but you have a bright future ahead and an exciting new start so that should be at the forefront of your mind not the negative parts of leaving barca" I said
"I suppose you're right" he said
He thanked me for making him open up and then making him feel better but I’m not here for that I just want him to be happy with his life and the decision he made. He also apologised for the way he treated me for the last few days but I told him to forget about that as it’s not important anymore although he still promised that he’d make it up for it and he’d show me how fun it would be to live here with him.
Chapter Two - Shadows and Spotlights
Red Threads // A Jasper Hale Fanfiction // Wattpad
The morning dew never failed to fog up my window.
I wiped it down like I always did, knowing it wouldn't clear completely. Even if it did, it's not like tomorrow morning would be different. This town never changes. But something about today was.
Dad was unusually chipper, of course, he was. To an outsider's eye, he seems to be the same but I noticed. Ever since Bella came, he's been wanting to give off a good impression. Waking up early in the morning, cooking us breakfast. It made me chuckle how the old man seemed so giddy to befriend his own daughter. He's been doing quite a lot recently.. A lot more cautious, too. I sigh looking at Bella give Dad a hug... well almost? I could still feel the tension between them. I guess Bella hasn't gotten used to Dad yet.
He tossed me the keys to my truck, a blue Ford F-150 he got me for my eighteenth birthday, and handed Bella a newly released sequel to the book she'd brought along with her last night. She immediately lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. Who knew my little sister turned into such a bookworm?
I laughed, turning to give Dad a hug. "Don't forget to eat lunch, old man. I'll cook you double if you forget again!"
Before I could head out, he lowered his voice, clearly not wanting Bella to hear. "You sure you're gonna be okay, kid?"
There it was. Dad wasn't one to say much when he was worried. He usually just hovered around, giving a few looks, and waited for me to express my concerns but this time... I guess he was quite nervous.
"I'm gonna be fine, Dad. Look, nothing's gonna happen. Me and Bella are safe. Forks High is safe."
Ever since the so-called animal attack at my old school, the one that killed our principal, he's been on high alert. That's how he got Mom to let him transfer us here actually. That's why she was unusually quiet about it. I guess even she knew when to back off.
Dad gave a tight nod, a small cough escaping his throat.
"Hey! We're gonna be late!" Bella called from the car.
"Coming!" I waved goodbye. "We'll be back in one piece don't worry!"
—
Bella stared out the window, earbuds in, already in her own world. I hoped she didn't feel too out of place though. I mean, she's been gone for years, but me and Dad always kept the door open. Still, it's weird how different we turned out.
She got Mom's lighter features, brown hair, pale skin... I was more like Dad. Darker hair, sharper eyes, and a sharper tongue as well. Personality-wise, we couldn't be more different. Bella was all quiet sighs and internal monologues. It was like looking at a cute little puppy.
Suddenly, a dog or maybe something bigger darted across the road. I slammed the brakes, heart in my throat.
Bella shot me a look. "What happened?"
I cursed under my breath, grabbing my right hand. My index finger flared up again, like a needle piercing straight through it. It had been aching since last night, but this was way worse.
"I think I hit something," I muttered, stepping out of the truck.
No body. Just an empty road. But weirdly, there was a dent on the side of the truck.
Great. First week in Forks High and I'm already seeing ghosts or possibly damaging wildlife. And in this town, especially where animals were practically protected royalty, I'd be crucified.
Bella climbed out behind me, eyes flicking to my hand. "You're bleeding?"
"No, just... cramps, maybe? I was painting a lot last week."
She reached for my hand, and I instinctively pulled back. Her touch made it sting worse. What the hell?
"You okay?" she asked again, clearly not buying it.
"Yeah. Just a passing dog or something. Nothing major."
She didn't look convinced but got back in the truck anyway.
The rest of the drive was painfully quiet. When we pulled up to Forks High, the place was buzzing. Students swarmed the front steps, groups clustered on wet pavement like it wasn't freezing out.
A voice called out as we passed, "Nice ride."
Bella smiled slightly. "Thanks."
I clocked how people looked at us. Like we were aliens. I guessed Forks didn't get a lot of transfers.
"You're Dawn and Isabella Swan," A guy popped out of nowhere. "The new girls!"
He was tall, kind of nerdy-cute, with wide eyes and a little too much confidence. "Eric. Eyes and ears of this place. You need a tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on? I do it all." He offered a hand out, which I didn't take.
I laughed, raising a brow at his shy retreat. "Generous offer. My sister might take you up on it."
Bella side-eyed me. "I'm more of a suffer in–" "Guide her," I cut in. "She's shy, she needs someone to show her around."
Eric beamed. "Sure thing!"
I watched them walk off toward gym, Bella shooting me a glare. I mouthed You'll be fine and turned toward my own hell: AP Chemistry.
I had no clue why I was even in that class. I wasn't bad at chem, but I wasn't great either. Someone probably made a mistake. Hopefully.
As soon as I walked into the room, my finger pulsed again. Sharper this time. And I swear someone was staring at me. Like, really staring. But when I glanced around, only the teacher looked up.
"Ah! You must be Ms. Swan. I'm Mrs. Moore," she smiled. "Why don't you take a seat next to Jasper and Alice at the back. They'll help you catch up."
My gaze followed her gesture, and I froze.
Two students sat there like they belonged in an oil painting, not a public school lab. The girl had short black hair styled in messy spikes, like she walked through a wind tunnel and made it fashion. She was impossibly graceful, almost pixie-like. The guy next to her... there was something sharp about him. Pale skin, honey-blond curls, jaw clenched like he was in pain.
Then he looked at me.
His eyes were black. Not dark brown. Not hazel. Pitch black, like tar under moonlight. I couldn't move... I could barely breathe. There was something ancient in that look, like staring down a cliffside you didn't realize you were standing on the edge of.
My heart skipped. No, it tripped.
I forced my legs to work, walking slowly down the aisle and sliding into the seat beside them. The room was full of quiet scribbling and the low hum of a Bunsen burner, but I felt like all the sound had drained out by the time I was in front of them.
"Hey," I said, more casually than I felt. "I'm Dawn."
The girl smiled immediately. "I'm Alice." She had a bright voice. Bubbly. Friendly. Like wind chimes.
"Nice to meet you," I said, holding out my hand. She reached out instinctively, but the moment our hands almost touched, she hesitated. Her smile faltered, though not entirely, but just a tiny flicker. Her eyes went distant and a bit confused. As if I had disappeared right in front of her.
I waited for a "nice to meet you too," but it never came.
Instead, she blinked and let go quickly. Her smile came back, but it never quite reached her eyes like earlier. I tilted my head, a little thrown off. Nonetheless, I ignored it.
Alice turned back to her notes and began explaining where the class had left off, guiding me through the lab instructions. Still helpful, still sweet, but there was a stiffness behind it. Like she was trying to focus through a migraine.
I noticed her sneaking glances at me every so often, her expression tight. Curious. Intrigued. Though still she looked as if she tried her best to be cheerful.
And the guy beside her. Jasper.
He sat to her left, perfectly still, arms folded like he was keeping himself from doing something impulsive. There was something rigid about him. Alert. Like a soldier trying not to twitch. He hadn't said a word. Not to me, not to Alice. Just occasionally turned pages or moved a beaker as needed. But his eyes... those seemed to be the only parts of him that moved. Flicking toward me, then away, then back again like he couldn't help it.
I caught his gaze once and for some reason it didn't feel like looking at a stranger.
It felt like I'd walked into a room I wasn't supposed to be in, and he was trying to decide whether to speak or vanish.
And yet, weirdly, I wasn't scared. Just... confused.
He was beautiful. No getting around that, but in that strange, carved-from-marble way that felt unreal up close. There was a shadow to him. Like he carried tension in his veins instead of blood.
I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and tried to focus on Alice again.
"You smell... sweet," she said suddenly.
I blinked. "Sorry?"
"Sorry," she laughed quickly. "That sounded strange, didn't it?"
"Kind of," I said, laughing a little too. "Is that a compliment or a warning?" I joked around, expecting her to jest back.
But instead her smile flickered, and there was silence between us after that.
"I'll write while you pour?" I offered. "You probably shouldn't trust me near glass."
Alice laughed, a little too quickly. "You're fine. Here, just place that bottle into the tray when it's done mixing."
It was strange. I heard a lot about the Cullens. Ever since they moved from Alaska two years ago, they've been the favorite of small-town gossip. Though I wasn't one to really interact much with the people around, it was impossible to hear nothing about the Cullen family. I was at the diner once, waiting for Dad, and I heard something about them being adopted. That doesn't explain why they all look so beautiful, though. Were Mr. and Mrs. Cullen just extremely selective with their kids?
We were midway through the lab instructions when Alice handed me one of the labeled flasks, her fingers brushing mine by accident.
The contact was brief—but immediate.
Alice flinched like she'd touched a live wire. Her eyes snapped wide, then went utterly blank. Like someone cut the lights behind them. I barely had time to register it. My fingers jerked instinctively away, knocking the beaker on the edge of the table. It shattered on impact.
"Shit—sorry," I gasped, already reaching to clean it.
But then—
A sharp sting flared across my finger. A thin, shallow line, like a paper cut—but worse. It burned, like hot scissors through paper threads.
Alice blinked hard, snapping back to herself.
I barely caught the way her hand trembled as she reached for a cloth. "Dawn–" she said, too fast. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it's nothing." I said, my hand covering my finger.
But I looked up—and Jasper wasn't okay.
He'd gone completely still. Rigid.
His eyes were on my hand. Unblinking.
There was something about the way he stood, like he was balancing on the edge of a cliff, waiting for a signal to jump.
Alice's head snapped toward him.
"Jasper," she said quietly.
He didn't move.
"Jasper," she repeated—firmer now. Her hand shot out, latching onto his wrist.
Something passed between them in that second—some silent conversation I wasn't privy to.
He shut his eyes, jaw flexing like it hurt to breathe. His lips twitched once.
Then he exhaled sharply and turned away.
"I need to go," he muttered, already walking out.
Alice watched him go, lips pressed into a thin line.
She turned back to me with a polite smile. "I'll clean this up. Go see the nurse, okay?"
I nodded, too weirded out to argue. My finger was still bleeding, but at least it was wrapped in a napkin now.
As I stepped out of the lab, I could still feel it—the strange static that buzzed through the air when our hands touched. The scissor-sharp slice. And the way Jasper looked at me, like I'd cracked something open he wasn't ready to face.
I didn't know what it meant.
But something had changed. I just didn't know what.
—
Alice caught up with Jasper just outside the science building.
She let out an exasperated sigh, not speaking for a moment. Just staring at him.
"I can't see her," she finally whispered. "I..." She looked disheveled, a slight terror in her eyes.
He didn't answer.
"I mean it," Alice continued. "Not just her future. Nothing. Like she doesn't even exist on the map..."
Jasper let out a slow breath through his nose. "Then maybe that's why."
"Why what?"
"Why it felt like something snapped." He furrowed his brows, clenching his jaw.
She blinked. "What do you mean?"
He didn't elaborate. He just kept walking, hands shoved deep in his pockets, expression unreadable.
—
By the time I got to the cafeteria, it was packed. I spotted Bella sitting at a table surrounded by a cluster of juniors, laughing politely at something someone said.
After what happened in AP Chem, I was sure something was wrong with my finger. But the nurse insisted it was fine; she said it was just a shallow cut, nothing serious. Still, she let me rest for a while in the office, which was why I was late.
I scanned the room for an empty table, hoping to quietly blend in. That hope shattered when I caught sight of a pale hand waving me over.
Alice.
She sat with the rest of the Cullens. Which was undeniably the most striking group in the room. Together, they looked more like a casting call than a group of high school students. The cafeteria buzzed around them, whispers flowing like current through water.
"Dawn! Over here!" Alice's voice rang out, clear and cheerful.
Heads turned. A few students glanced between her and me, whispering. Even Bella looked up, surprised. She offered me a small, closed-lip smile, the kind you give a stranger at a family party. I gave her one back, equally uncertain.
As I made my way across the room, I heard a girl near Bella mutter, "Wait—who is she? Why is she sitting with them?"
"That's my sister," Bella smiled, calmly looking over.
"You didn't tell us you had a sister," the girl replied, laughing awkwardly. I don't know why but the way she said that kind of bothered me.
I slid into the seat beside Alice, settling between her and another blonde girl who gave me a slow once-over, arms folded across her chest like I'd just stolen her seat.
"Hey," Alice said, leaning in slightly. "Is your finger okay?"
I glanced at the bandage wrapped around it. "Yeah. Still stings a little, but I'll live."
She nodded, hands neatly folded in her lap, but I noticed how she didn't reach for me again. Not even a reassuring touch on the arm. She looked steadier than before but not exactly at ease.
"I wanted to apologize," she added. "About earlier. I... had a migraine. And Jasper... he's just really sensitive to blood."
I glanced across the table. Jasper sat rigid, jaw clenched, eyes fixed on anywhere but me. He didn't look up, but I could feel the apology in his nod. It was subtle, almost reluctant.
"Happens," I said, shrugging.
But it didn't explain everything.
Alice smiled, a little too brightly, as if trying to smooth the tension. "Oh! And this is Rosalie, Emmett, and Edward," she said, gesturing to each of them.
Rosalie was the one glaring at me like I'd spilled coffee on her jacket and Emmett offered a charming grin.
"Wait—there's two Swans?" he asked, amused. "Are you a senior here?"
"Technically," I said. "I transferred back recently. My old school had... issues." That was putting it lightly.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow. "Weird. Haven't seen you in any of my classes."
"I was in the nurse's office most of the morning," I replied, not bothering to elaborate.
Emmett laughed. "Lucky. I should try that sometime."
Rosalie rolled her eyes and gave his shoulder a light smack.
Okay. So they're definitely a thing.
Alice chuckled, then added, "Edward and I are juniors. The rest are graduating this year."
"Oh, I didn't realize," I said. "You were so good in AP Chem, I thought you were a senior for sure."
Alice beamed at the compliment, but there was something behind her eyes. Like she was watching me too closely, studying the way I moved, the way I spoke. Like she still hadn't decided what I was.
Jasper still hadn't said a word. His shoulders were tense, posture straight-backed and unreadable. He didn't look at me once. But I could feel it—something between him and Alice. A kind of friction. A tension I didn't understand.
Edward, meanwhile, barely seemed present. His gaze drifted toward Bella's table, brow faintly furrowed.
The longer I sat with them, the more I realized how... off everything felt. Polite, sure. Welcoming, even. But just beneath the surface, there was a current of something else.
Everyone at this table knew something I didn't and they weren't sure if they wanted to tell me.
It didn't feel like a secret, exactly. More like a weight hanging in the air—unspoken, but thick enough to notice. The way Alice kept smiling too much. The way Jasper refused to look up. The way Rosalie looked like she wanted me gone before I'd even sat down.
Even Emmett, with all his charm and easy laughter, kept glancing at Alice and Jasper like he was waiting for something to snap.
Maybe it was just me. Maybe I was still stuck in my head about what happened earlier, the weird sharpness in my finger, the way Alice had flinched like she'd seen something that wasn't there.
I tried to shake it off.
The bell rang a few minutes later, and everyone began clearing their trays and standing. I felt Alice's hand brush my shoulder—gentle, but brief.
"You should sit with us again tomorrow," she said, voice light but a little strained. "If you want."
"Yeah," I said slowly. "Sure."
Jasper was already halfway out the door before I finished speaking.
The Cullens drifted out in a loose group, sleek and quiet and just a little too graceful. I stood there for a second longer, holding my tray, watching them disappear down the hall like shadows stretching under sunlight.
Something about them didn't add up. Not in a bad way. Just... not normal.
But then again, I hadn't felt normal since I walked into that chemistry lab. Since that moment my skin met Alice's. Since the bottle shattered, and the air felt like it had split around me.
I looked down at the thin bandage wrapped around my finger.
Still sore.
Still strange.
I told myself I'd ask questions tomorrow. For now, I just needed to get through the rest of the day without cutting myself open again.
When it rains, it pours, or something like that. Model trains are usually produced in small series, so if you want a particular locomotive, you best pre-order it months, sometimes years in advance, and that can mean sometimes two locomotives arrive on the same day. Like yesterday.
First, from my local dealer, I got the DB class 152 from Piko.
The class 152, or Siemens ES64F as it's called by its manufacturer (no number after the F, the ES64F4 is a related but different locomotive) is a heavy freight locomotive that was built in the late 1990s and very early 2000s. 6.4 MW power (that's about 8600 horsepower) are quite an impressive figure. That said, its role in the German locomotive history is not particularly remarkable. It was part of the transition from locomotives designed by individual builders (instead of by the railway, and then jointly built by all the different manufacturers together), and it was part of the transition from one integrated railroads to various sectors, which is why it's a heavy freight locomotive, as opposed to a heavy universal locomotive, in the first place. A universal freight and high-speed passenger derivative of this design exists in huge numbers in Austria, as the Taurus family.
In the end the 152 was overtaken by newer developments. DB originally planned to order 195 with options for a further 100. But first the final 25 were transferred into Austrian style Taurus locomotives, because the 152 wasn't approved for Austria (DB cheaped out and ordered bogies that, it turned out, produce more annoying forces than legal in Austria). And the final 100 were turned into the class 189 (that's the Siemens ES64F4), a multi-system version that can run in many different European countries.
A similar story exists with private companies: Technically the 152 was at the forefront, because Siemens produced two more and put them into Dispolok, at the time their in-house leasing company (since sold several times over). But most of Dispolok's fleet ended up being the Taurus and ES64F4 and since then the Vectron, successor to both of them, and the 152 remained a side note. They are nowadays sold to ITL, part of Captrain.
However, the 152 has a very important part in my personal history. Back in January of 2008, I took a couple of picture of one in Aachen West, the station near my university.
And then some time later, I don't recall when (the earliest files I can find seem to have been created mid-2012, which feels right), I used this as the basis for a user icon that I've since used, in various forms… everywhere. If you see it somewhere, that's me, unless the person using it is saying nonsense, in which case it's an impersonator.
So, yeah, no choice, I just had to buy it.
The model is from Piko and I've equipped it with an ESU LokPilot 5 micro DCC decoder (with Next18 interface). It all looks and works fine, my main tip would be to actually read the instructions. That way you'll learn that the body is screwed instead of clipped on, with screws hidden underneath the trucks, and also that you need to enable SUSI on the decoder, because the light functions are controlled not by the decoder but a chip in the locomotive.
(To put it simply, there's a tiny computer network inside the tiny locomotive.)
As you can see, there's normal front light, rear light (separately controlled), interior cab light and high-beam headlights. The 152, like most modern locomotives, has the outer lights for normal headlights and tail lights, with the inner lights specifically used as additional high-beams, which is implemented perfectly here. Oh, and it also runs without issue.
But it doesn't end there, because while I was getting ready to go to the model train store (where I'd actually just been earlier, to get something else; I saw the email that the locomotive was ready about ten minutes after I left), I also got an email that I got a package with a different pre-ordered locomotive.
This is a class 332, also known as Köf III (as in 3). The Köf III family also includes a number of other class numbers, but the locomotive is functionally and visually the same.
It's a small west-german shunter, built in the 1960s. The "Köf" designator means it was classified as a "Kleinlok", "Small locomotive", which meant a small shunter for use within station limits only that crucially did not need a fully trained engineer. The öf stands for oil burning and fluid drive, i.e. diesel motor with a hydraulic torque converter, and the III means power category three, in practice 240 horsepower. Despite the designation, some of them have also been equipped for very local road service on lines where its 45 km/h (30 mph) top speed is enough. Others have been relegated to be used as shop machines, being officially downgraded from "locomotive" to "tool" or "device", which, again, means you need an even less fully trained engineer. Some also came back from "device" status to "locomotive" status. These have since been sold all over both as shunters and for construction trains, with some ending up in various countries in Africa or even Thailand, supposedly.
The model is by Liliput, nowadays the German and Austrian division of Bachmann, and besides being small and adorable, it has a particular party trick: Remote controlled coupling and uncoupling.
Using the built-in DCC decoder, you can uncouple anywhere on the layout. It even does a little dance, first pushing closer to the car, then opening the coupler, then automatically driving away. It can also open the coupler so it can couple more easily to stationary cars, instead of pushing them away, which happens frequently with the normal N scale coupler. This last feature requires some tight timing, though, I don't yet fully get it right all the time.
The locomotive doesn't run perfectly, it doesn't seem to have any buffer capacitors and is very picky about the cleanliness of the rails. I think some running in should help here, though.
These locomotives have been a long time coming. They were originally announced for 2020, but severely delayed. I pre-ordered mine in October of 2022, already long after they were supposed to be out, but it still took until now for them to finally ship.
Thankfully, pre-ordering meant I only had to pay 2022 pre-order prices instead of the ones I'd have to pay now. I saved about 30€ that way. What to spend them on, though? Ah, I know! A second one of them!
Yeah, on my way to picking up the package, I passed through the local fake Lego store that we have for some reason, and they had that very locomotive. How could I not buy it?
(Okay, both the actual Lego Company and Bluebrixx, the company that runs the store and made this kit, will probably be angry with me for calling this "fake Lego" instead of, like, "compatible plastic building bricks" or "Klemmbausteine" or whatever. And in a legal sense, yes, this is absolutely not Lego, it's just compatible with it, and it's 100% Lego and not claiming to be Lego, so it's legally clearly not fake either… but let's be real. Neither company is paying me. This is fake Lego.)
The quality of that kit is typical Bluebrixx, which is to say, you don't pay a lot, and you get what you pay for. A few pieces don't quite have the same shade of grey as the ones around them, and the design is in parts cool, in parts needlessly complicated, frustrating and unstable. The instructions, which don't come in the box, you have to download them, aren't always fully clear either. It's objectively worse than real Lego, but not so much that you should dismiss it out of hand, I guess. Besides, real Lego make exactly one train every five years, so buying from them is sadly literally not an option.
Anyway, between that and the ASF, that's been quite a lot. I love these locomotives, but, you know, I still need to pay money for food and stuff eventually.
AITA trying to contact my ex about our dog's health insurance after he asked me to stop contacting him?
My ex and I recently got divorced. We had a dog together (Gus), but in the divorce I got to keep him. Last weekend, Gus got really sick and started throwing a ton. I rushed him to the vet for treatment and called my ex for the first time in months. He had told me that if anything happened to Gus, to reach out and he'd help. Well, I called him to check on the details of the Gus's health insurance because it was through his work (he got a $5 discount each month). He told me that Gus was insured and to send him the bills and he'd file the claims online. Also, it was my ex's birthday that day by pure coincidence. I didn't want to contact him on his birthday, but I had no choice! I needed to figure out the health insurance so I could know how much of the bill would be covered before paying thousands of dollars.
Turned out Gus had pancreatitis, nothing too serious with treatment. I spent about $1500 in vet bills that day. After paying everything under the assumption that insurance would ultimately pay $900 of the bill and I'd only pay $600, my ex texted me to never contact him again because "he needed space" and that talking to me was "too painful." I told him, okay I'll stop messaging you but just give me the insurance login so I can file the claim or transfer ownership of the policy to me (as my name was not on the insurance policy, I have no access to it at all unless he transfers the account to me, authorizes me, or gives me the login information).
He refused. Every time I kept messaging him, asking him to do one of those two things, he kept turning it around on me and telling me that I was being selfish and disrespectful by ignoring his boundaries, that Gus isn't his problem and since I got to keep him, I have to pay his bills. So now I have to not only pay all the bills and follow-up care, but I have to get a new policy and with how insurance works in the US, Gus will no longer be covered for future issues related to pancreatits or his skin allergies, because those are now considering "pre-existing conditions." 🙄
Well, I kept bugging him for days. I offered to pay him $200 to make the transfer. I threatened to message his sister and see if she would talk sense into him and he claimed that "I nearly gave his mom a stroke" because of the whole divorce so to not message his family. I requested he attend mediation with me so we could handle the issue, and he said he could meet with me in JUNE (this happened mid March) which will give him plenty of time to cancel the policy, I'm sure. I considered getting a court order to attend mediation with me but that'd cost $300. He kept refusing to help me, so I kept pushing and texting him and trying to call him, despite his requests to leave him alone. The $1500 vet bill is whatever. It sucks but I'll pay whatever I have to to keep my baby boy healthy. I'm just furious that this will make me get a new policy and that if more of the same issues come up, it won't be covered when it SHOULD BE. He just needs to transfer the policy (that he was still paying btw) to me.
I'm sure I'm not the asshole but my ex clearly seems to think I am, so I came here to open the question to tumblr. AITA?
Hiiiiiiii back for more snippets 😁😁😁 some 🚁🚁🚁🚁 and 💰💰💰💰💰 please!
make me write
hi friend! i didn't forget about this (i wrote too much and had to select parts)
🚁 - we’re crashing that helicopter, folks (bucktommy post-breakup)
"Right, were you unconscious for the week before that? Or…" Sal looked over at him. "Because I'm really interested in the reason I didn't get a call as soon as you woke up. Or one from the goddamn ambulance." "Sal," Tommy sighed. They'd had this fight before, after the mall explosion when Sal had swapped off with Howie and wondered why there was no one there to see him. Explaining that he didn't have an emergency contact had set something off in Sal's eyes — Tommy was pretty sure the only time he'd seen him look like that since had been Captain Number Four after Cook, just two before Nash, when they'd tried to send Howie into a building on his own and Sal had lost it. "Start talking or start walking." Even knowing that the threat was empty, Tommy caved. "I swapped it to Evan a few months ago," he admitted. "Haven't got around to changing it back." "That explains why the hospital didn't call me. Why didn't you?" "What were you gonna do, Sal?" He sighed. "I was just killing time until they said I could go home." "Well I would have made sure you didn't have to rely on the kindness of fucking strangers while I busted my ass to get up here and pick you up," Sal muttered, shaking his head. "You think I don't need to brush up on my gin rummy skills? Gina's mom murdered me last month at game night." "I've told you before, you've got to stop letting her pick gin ru—" "Tommy," Sal looked over at him, his lips pressed together. "Next time you run into trouble, you give me a call right away." "You've got a station to run, Sal." "If you weren't injured I'd be giving you a beating right now," Sal snapped. "You call me. I'll come get you. End of story."
💰- we provide… emergencies (meet tommy’s bff eliot spencer)
"You want to see his dating profile?" Hardison gestured expansively at his laptop screen. "Meet Firehose, lady and gentlemen." "Is it active?" Tommy asked, grimacing to himself. This was the opposite of not getting involved. "Never mind. I don't want to know." "I'll tell you if it's active," Hardison bargained. "If we can put it up on the big screen." Tommy stared at the three of them. He knew — he knew — that it was a trap. There wasn't an answer that would get him out of this without being roasted to hell and back. He should have left the room the second Hardison mentioned finding something on Evan. "Fine," he sighed, waving a hand. He might as well understand all the references later when the three of them started teasing him. "It's not like I can stop you anyway." Hardison pressed a button with a flourish and Evan's dating profile whooshed up onto the big screens. Tommy wasn't sure if he wanted to laugh or not. The photos were obviously old, though there were a few of him in uniform — Tommy figured that was his probie year, based on some of the photos Evan had shown Tommy of him and Maddie when she'd first moved to L.A. It was probably a good thing that Tommy had transferred when he had. "Did he change the name when he got the job as a firefighter?" Eliot asked mildly. "No sirree, that is the name that he signed up with six years prior to being accepted to the fire academy." Hardison said, his voice purposefully bland. "I would assume that it's a reference to his…" "It's not inaccurate," Tommy conceded, doing his best to not stare too hard at Evan. He was thinking about a lot of things, and there was no good place for them to go to. But getting hung up on the number of tattoos Evan used to have and the number he had now was… one of the safer things for him to think about. "A reference to his…" Parker tilted her head, considering the photos. "Huh. Yep. I can see it." Hardison started coughing and Eliot whacked him in the back, laughing. "Y'all are nasty," Hardison managed, after he'd finished choking on his coffee. He scowled at Tommy and hit another button, switching from the dating profile to a series of news articles.
Hello!!
I just wanted to say how much I love this account. As someone who's been very open about their dislike for Marinette, it's great seeing prompts where she's the one getting salted on.
I have a few ideas for prompts if people want to expand on them:
• Typically in student transfer fics, it's Marinette going to a different class/school. I'd love to see the potential of Adrien being the one who changes class/school. Whether it's because he was thrown under the bus for knowing Lila's lies or because he learned Marinette was stalking him and he didn't feel safe being that close to her anymore. Like, even switching seats isn't enough for him to feel comfortable since she may also ask to switch seats or partner up with him for group projects. And what do you know, he actually flourishes in his new class/school.
If we want to go for an angstier route: with the thrown out of the bus option, his "friends" start ignoring him. It starts off that way at least, but then they begin to bad mouth him, maybe even bully him. Either way, it gets to him and shows in his work. It's one of those extremely rare times when Gabriel is actually a good dad. And seeing how upset and stressed his son is over this, he has him pulled from the class/school and put into a new one. There is no threat this time, because he knows doing it this time would be helping Adrien.
• I've said it in my own account and I'll say it here, give me Amazon Marinette. There is potential there. But noooo, she has to go the BatFam. A past ladybug miraculous wielder is close by, but no, have her go the vigilantes of Gotham.
Well, how about we actually see her get training by said past ladybug miraculous wielder. And during her training, Diana, aka Wonder Woman, captures her with her lasso of truth. From there they find things out that make them question if Marinette should even be Ladybug.
Meanwhile, in Gotham, Chat Noir is having a blast doing some crime with his new Catmom.
• While she's expelled, Marinette makes social media account (MDC) where she posts her fashion designs and rants about her personal life. She goes on and on about what's going on while keeping everything vague and anonymous. She eventually gets back into DuPont but continues the account anyways.
She's happy when people side with her, but when people don't she gets upset and blocks them before making a new post about how people never side with her. Everything she writes about is from her own perspective. She's the one who got hurt the most. She's the one who people ignored. She's the one who tried to tell the truth only for people to tell her she was wrong. People should feel bad for her. And they do.
Until someone begins to break down her posts. They spill details she omitted or exaggerated to fit her story. They spill how, for someone who tried to say hard to show her crush she loved him and make him realize he loved her how she loved him, she did a good job at stalking him. This makes people question MDC and more people begin to call her out. Some people even begin to see through the cracks and realize MDC is Marinette.
Marinette tries everything she can to recover from this. But she can't. And in one last ditch effort, she messages the account who first exposed her, asking why they did it. What did they have to gain from this? Easy. You messed with my cousin, Marinette. The only person I care about other than my mother. And with that, she knows who found her out. Felix.
I just think there should be a story where Marinette used her alias, MDC, to say things she wouldn't as Marinette online, because she feels that safety of being behind a screen. She's not expecting to be cancelled because of how popular MDC is. So when she is, she tries to do everything she can to get things under control, but is unsuccessful. And it's Felix because he has the skills to do so and is the one person who has no prior relationship with her. They've never met. They're not friends. They're not even enemies prior to this.
If it were, say, Chloe, it'd be more likely that people would side with MDC. Because she can bring up how Chloe always bullied her. Marinette can't say anything about Felix, because they never interacted. He knows that. She has nothing on him that won't reveal something she doesn't want to be revealed. Whether he knows this or not is unclear.
Hello to you too! Thank you for sharing your ideas BTW, it's great that there are people who want to come up with thier own salt prompts, considering the amount of different ways a prompt can go!
Hi just discovered your tumblr and thought I'd say hi and that it's nice to meet you and...idk if you're new or not to the cookie run x reader part of tumblr but if you are then, welcome and glad to see a new writer here! Anyway I saw some of your hcs and wanted to input an idea of mine since your ideas seem cool!
https://www.tumblr.com/djljpanda/729009881234948096/in-crk-one-of-black-lemonades-lines-when-you?source=share
Can't help but see this and can't help but think but imagine:
What if mc saw this ask and next time they play cookie run kingdom...they jokingly explain to the cookies of the kingdom about how they are just a normal person playing a video game and that if they did get transfered into their world, they'd be completely powerless and unable to do anything (unless they not only play cookie run but also exercised regularly and trained in strength, speed, flexibility or stamina then they might mention a boost in one of those categories).....and doesn't realize that the cookies could actually HEAR them!
Just imagine...cookies who want mc to themselves to snuggle or romance or something would hear this and think "wait I thought they were a powerful god...but they are just a normal person playing some video game and don't have any powers while everyone in the cookie world, including me (aka cookie who is thinking this), so...oh my god! Capturing and keeping mc is going to be WAY easier than I thought!"
Aaaand when mc ends up in the world...the cookies are helping mc with getting used to their body, with the full knowledge that they have zero powers soooo they either have to protect mc oooor this is their chance to keep mc for themselves lol!
I'm happy to see that you enjoy the idea of sharing here. I have been playing Crk since 2020 and have been a fan and I have followed the tag and I did really enjoy the self aware crk and was always Happ to read fanfiction and theories but it seems now all the writers have moved on which I don't blame them for. Thank you for the Welcome and Welcome to my blog.
But maybe not all the cookies can hear you at once but maybe one cookie can and everyone thinks their insane cause only witches are really right?
But I think that would be the reason why they would grow attached to you maybe or maybe not get romantic feelings for you or just seeing you as their best friend.
But they were both shocked at your words of calling yourself regular and upset because to that one cookie you are their everything.
But at some point all the cookies were able to hear you and you have like a cult following with that one cookie of your choice being like the leader.
When you do end up in Earthbread you almost got cookienapped right off the bat only for a cookie part of the following to save you.
That following of yours will make sure you are okay and devote themselves to you and if that cookie is your love interest they would ask to be your right hand cookie, while their cheeks are burning.
But if you want to have the normal isekai route at first you are protected by these cookies and soon you have powers and become a godly being but something happened that made you disappear but really you just turned invisible like how jack frost was in the rise of the guardians movie. And you are trying to handle that while you find out that your world and Earthbread are merging, the rest and small details can be saved for like fanfiction that I'm still trying to figure out on.
Woah, dude, chill. I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive at all. If I was then genuinely, my bad.
I wont lie part of that message WAS just an excuse to claim about the voters (teasingly mind you) but what I was primarily going for was genuine concern for ya and this blog. Like you said I dont got the information or the contacts for all the super secret top shelf stuff, I'm like a soundcheck reaper, only a little higher on the ladder than a wall reaper dude.
I'm one of the rubes they're moving to Sapporo in a year or two so they're having me and a bunch of others spend time in all the different parts of tokyo and other major cities to get some familiarity with all the cities streets in real life first hand and rub elbows with a bunch of the staff in each one in case of emergency and they need to borrow for it.
While doing the rounds in Shibuya the other day, culling noise, collecting recently deceased to fill player slots, the usual, I overheard some pretty important looking reapers and that coffee dude from the game(? I think????) talking about the blog. I didnt catch everything, but it seemed dicey from what I could tell and figured I'd give you a heads up just in case (and also maybe complain about the voters a little lol.) I dont wanna dox myself but I'm from a nowhere city in a nowhere state in the midwest rust belt so aint a lot of noise or souls typically and this blog has been a good laugh and think most days while killing time. Its pretty neat getting a look behind the scenes and at the bigger picture and all the top shelf secret stuff, most reapers I've met still only know whispered rumors about the simulation thing.
...Sounds like you got everything handled though so..... Good? I guess??
...Seriously though, you good, dude? You uhhhhh...... kinda went from 0 to a 100 real fast... You wanna talk about it...? Stress will kill ya, man.
...Also should I be worried about Atarashi sniffing me out since I called her annoying and she's apparently smart enough to know english? Be honest, theres like one more week till they shuffle us all to different cities again and I need to know if I should be worried for my life and start hiding behind some of the other transfered reapers the rest of the week!
(OOC: naaaahhhhhhh you're good dude, dont worry about it. Thats just how the character chirps, aint ever gonna take it to heart lol)
Ohhhh you're one of those nymphs. I mostly just do my job and work on my laptop most of the time while ignoring the incessant chirping from the other Reapers. Didn't realize they were grabbing newbs from all the way across the ocean, Sapporo's UG is gonna be weird if they're staffing it with foreigners. ...Then again, if you're a soundcheck Reaper that makes sense. Americans have good music, imo. Hope you're enjoying Tokyo, it's as good as it's ever gonna get here. Sapporo wishes its UG was like Tokyo's.
Important looking-Reapers and a coffee dude... Coffee dude... You mean Hanekoma-san? Dang. I don't really know all the details regarding him (above my paygrade, that's for sure) but I think I heard Kariya mention once that Hanekoma-san was from a higher plane. Those types of folks are usually all sorts of freaky (exhibit a: our wonderful Composer) but Hanekoma-san seems pretty chill. If there was any sort of problem I'd like to think at least someone would tell me. You said they mentioned this blog???
Hanekoma-san, if you're reading this, can you tell me if you, uh, like it? And maybe give me a discount at your cafe for all the good work I've been doing? Cough Cough Hint Hint Wink Wink?
I probably don't have anything to worry about. Probably. Ultimately I only really answer to Yashiro and the Composer, and neither of them seems inclined to make me stop. As for the rumors about the Simulation software, I dunno how much I'm allowed to say about what my job usually requires me to do Transposing stuff for. Like you can probably guess it involves data analysis, but mostly I just sit around getting minor tasks done while everything renders. If you're really curious about what Transposers do and why, I'd recommend talking to Shinjuku's Transposer, Kaie Ono. You've heard of him, right? The guy who basically made the RNS? He's a total weirdo but when it comes to tech stuff in the UG he's a genius, he's probably forgotten more about the Simulation software than I've ever learned. Which means he'd have a better idea of what he can and can't tell you. Just uh. Bring a phone with you. Ono doesn't really do the talking thing for whatever reason.
I'm not going to apologize for overreacting, that's how I stay alive. The world is cutthroat and if you don't act fast and forcefully then you'll lose more money than you gain. Maybe it's an old habit from my previous residence but considering how insane my Shibuya coworkers are it's not worth the effort to try and adapt when everything is already working in my favor (well, almost everything).
(And stress did kill me, thank you so much for bringing that up.)
Don't worry, everyone calls Atarashi annoying, you aren't special. You're already in danger from her, but like, come one, this is the Reaper's Game. You didn't seriously think you were ever truly safe from anything, did you?
I'm still kinda pissed at you, but since you've proven that I do actually have a positive audience among other Reapers I guess I'll forgive your attitude, this time. If other Reapers are supportive of my goals here, that'll really help as evidence for when I finally showcase this project to the higher-ups. Not that I'm going to say what my goal in showcasing it will be, since apparently some of the higher-ups are reading this, and I want it to be a surprise! For now, let's just focused on keeping things running smoothly, shall we?
#twewy#twewy spoilers#the world ends with you#smart of you to not dox yourself on the rns though#ill give you some credit there#consider it a token of my forgiveness that im not looking up to see which of the transfer reapers are from the USA#can't guarantee atarashi wont though lol#akito jitsukata
Accidental Run-Ins – Timothy McGee
I walked into the coffee shop I hadn't been to in years. Everything looked the same. Same old booths. Same rickety stools. Same stale coffee smell. And as it would seem, the same customers.
"Y/N?"
I turned to see my childhood best friend sitting at the counter with a notebook in front of him. I smiled when I instantly realized what he was doing. Timothy McGee always wanted to be a writer.
"Well well well," I teased as I walked over to him. "Is that Timothy McGee or Thom E. Gemcity?"
I sat next to him as he looked away, struggling to hide his blush. "How'd you know?" He asked, his voice soft.
"I've known you since we were little, Tim. You always talked about what kind of books you'd want to write." I playfully nudged his shoulder as I added, "Besides, your picture is on the back of your book."
"Right," he laughed. He looked up at me and smiled. "It's really good to see you, Y/N," he said softly. "How long has it been?"
"I think the last time we saw each other was high school graduation," I smiled. "You went off to MIT to do great techy things. And clearly, you have. I hear you're a part of NCIS. The Navy cops?"
"I am," he said, going back to being slightly uncomfortable. Tim never did like talking about himself.
"I bet you have lots of stories," I said, trying to get him to open up. I paused before adding, "Probably enough stories we would have lots to catch up on?"
He looked up at me and I watched as he figured it out. I couldn't help but laugh when it finally clicked.
"I umm. . . I think I can. . ."
"You working a case right now?" I asked, ignoring the gnawing feeling that I should be working on my case.
"Actually, no," he said with a small chuckle. "For once, we aren't. Normally, whenever something comes up in my personal life, I'm always in the middle of a case."
"Your personal life?" I asked genuinely curious but covered it with a teasing question.
"What little personal life I have," he scoffed.
"Can I get you a refill?" The barista asked Tim. I smiled when he turned toward me.
"Y/N, do you want anything?" He asked.
"Just a latte for me. Thanks," I said.
Tim and I spent the entire morning at our old coffee shop. We talked about almost everything that's happened in our lives since we last saw each other. After about two hours and three refills, Tim's phone rang. I instantly recognized the sigh and the look of defeat.
"Take it," I said before he could tell me it was work. He sent me an apologetic look before answering his phone.
"McGee."
I hid my smirk behind my cup as I finished my coffee. As he talked to someone he called, "DiNozzo", I got a text.
Wilson Got another body. Might be our 2nd in command.
"Son of a bitch," I mumbled under my breath.
"Everything okay?"
I looked over to see Tim no longer on the phone. "Just work," I said instantly. "I've got this big project and my boss is hounding me the closer we get to the deadline."
"You never did tell me what you do for work," he said, clearly forgetting the call he just got.
"Nothing too crazy," I laughed off the lie. "I work for an advertising company. They're branching out so they moved me and some of the other employees here."
"I'm glad they did."
"Me too," I said honestly. When I got transferred to Washington DC, I never thought I'd run into Tim McGee.
Tim opened his mouth to say something but his phone started ringing again. "I'm on my way," he snapped as soon as he answered. He instantly hung up the phone and turned toward me. "I really want to keep talking, Y/N, but I gotta go."
I reached over and gently put my hand on his arm. "It's okay," I tried to assure him. "I should be going too."
I grabbed a napkin and quickly wrote my number on it. When he realized what I was doing, Tim grabbed his NCIS business card and wrote his cell on the back. With awkward chuckles, we exchanged them. I leaned over and kissed his cheek before leaving the coffee shop.
For the first time in four years, I hated working for the FBI.
* * * * *
I walked out of the briefing room and answered my phone. "What can I do for you, Agent Gemcity?"
"Ha ha," he sarcastically laughed. "Are you busy?"
I looked over my shoulder to see my team focused on the evidence board. "Not at all," I smiled. "What did you have in mind?"
"Well, I was just thinking about yesterday at the coffee shop," he stuttered. "To be honest, I haven't stopped thinking about it."
"I haven't stopped thinking about it either," I said honestly.
"Really?" Tim cleared his throat before asking, "Any chance you want to get dinner?"
"You sure you can get away from NCIS?" I asked, wondering if I would be able to get away from the FBI.
"We're not working on anything too big. We're still following a few leads," he said, sounding like he was shrugging. "You free?"
"I think I can sneak away a little early," I smiled. "Text me the address and the time and I'll be there."
"Great," Tim chuckled. "I'll find a place and let you know."
"Sounds good."
I got a text from Tim a few hours later. That night, we went to dinner. We continued talking about our lives after high school and soon transitioned to reminiscing about our lives together before and during high school. After dinner, Tim and I walked back to his car. We didn't get in though. Instead, we turned toward each other.
"It was really nice catching up with you," I said softly when I realized how close we were.
"It was," he whispered. "This is going to sound horrible, but I didn't realize how much I missed you until the moment you walked into our old coffee shop."
I let out a small chuckle as we got closer. I held my breath as our lips finally touched. The second they did, we deepened the kiss. We broke the kiss when we ran out of air.
"You know," Tim said slowly, "the night doesn't have to end here. We could. . . continue it."
I smirked as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I like the sound of that."
Without a word, we got in the car and Tim drove us to his apartment. I couldn't fight the smile that formed as I walked in. The first thing I noticed was his bookcase. I walked over and started scanning the titles. I felt him step up behind me. To tease him, I grabbed the copy of his book off the shelf and turned toward him.
"Mr. Gemcity, I am such a big fan. Would you mind signing this for me?"
Tim just smirked at me as he grabbed the book out of my hand and, without breaking eye contact, tossed it onto his table.
"I'm not Gemcity to you," he whispered as he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his chest. "I'm just Tim."
"Well, just Tim," I teased, "where were we?"
"Right here," he mumbled as he pressed his lips to mine. I let out a small moan as I threw my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. Without breaking away, Tim picked me up and carried me into his bedroom.
We finally broke the kiss when Tim laid us down with him hovering over me.
"I've waited years for this," he whispered, sending chills down my spine.
Without breaking eye contact, I grabbed the bottom of his shirt, pulled it over his head, and tossed it across his room. He sent me a small smile before doing the same to my shirt.
"So have I, Tim," I whispered. "So have I."
* * * * *
After our first date and our night together, Tim and I fell back into our usual sync. We've been dating for a month and I still haven't told Tim that I actually work for the FBI. It wasn't normal for FBI agents to keep their job a secret but mine usually leads to undercover work. My director prefers my job to be kept a secret so I can continue safely going undercover.
Having kept this secret for so long, you wouldn't think it bothered me. And it didn't. Until I started dating Tim.
He's been completely honest with me. He's always honest when he has to rush off for work. He's always honest when he has to stay late for a case instead of meeting me for dinner. He's always honest when a case has been rough and he needs a distraction. And here I was, keeping a huge part of myself hidden from him.
"Are you listening, Agent Y/L/N?"
"Yes, sir," I said.
"Great," he said, slightly rolling his eyes. "So, we've set up a buy for you. We want you to go undercover."
"Of course you do," I scoffed as I stood up. "Heaven forbid you send anyone else."
"But you're the best, Y/N," my coworker Agent Wilson said sarcastically.
"Yes, she is," Agent Fornell snapped. "Look, Y/N, I know we send you undercover a lot and I'm sorry, but you really are the best."
"Yeah yeah," I brushed off. "Stop buttering me up and just tell me my cover."
Fornell handed me a file as he started to recite from it. "Your name is Lily Walters. You are the newest recruit."
"How the hell did you get me in?" I couldn't help but laugh.
"We have our ways," Fornell shrugged. "The meet is in two hours. You good?"
I grabbed my phone when it started to ring. "Yeah," I sighed as I stood up and started walking out of the room. "I'm always good."
I walked down the hall into my office and answered the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey," came Tim's soft voice. "Did I catch you at a bad time?"
"No," I sighed. "I'm sorry, baby. It's just one of those days, ya know?"
"Unfortunately, I do know."
"Sounds like you're having one of those days too," I said gently. "Another case?"
"A bad one," he said, "which means I'm going to have to cancel dinner. I'm really sorry, Y/N."
"It's okay," I said gently. "I understand. I'll probably be working late too. Just stay safe, okay?"
"I will," Tim said with a small chuckle. "I'll call you later?"
"I'll be waiting."
I hung up the phone and turned around to see Fornell standing in my doorway. "What?" I sighed, crossing my arms over his chest.
"How's Agent McGee?"
"He has no idea I'm Agent Y/L/N," I scoffed.
"That's not why I asked," Fornell said, putting his hands up in defense. "I know it's not easy."
"Not easy?" I snapped. "Of course, it's not easy lying to the man I love."
"The man you love?" He asked. "I thought you were just dating McGee."
"I've known him since we were little," I sighed, defensively crossing my arms over my chest.
"How long have you been in love with him?" Fornell asked, the tone of his voice turning slightly fatherly.
"Since high school," I shrugged, trying to ignore the guilt rising. The look on Fornell's face dropped.
"He doesn't know, does he?"
"No," I said under my breath as I looked at my feet. "He doesn't know how I feel or that I work for you."
"Damn," Fornell sighed. "I'm sorry, Y/L/N."
"You wimping out on us?" Agent Wilson laughed.
"Never," I said between my clenched teeth.
"Good," he said, his smirk falling. "Cause we need to get a few things before the meet."
* * * * *
I resisted the urge to fix my earpiece. In all my years in the FBI, I've never enjoyed going undercover. Despite what Fornell wants me to believe, I know that the only reason I'm the one to go undercover is because I was young and female.
"You must be Lily."
I smelled the marijuana the second he walked up to me. I slowly turned around and crossed my arms over my chest.
"And you must be Andy," I sighed. "So much for not getting high off your own supply."
"It's not. . ."
"Don't," I cut him off. "You got the stuff or not?"
"You got the cash?" He snapped back. I grabbed the wad of cash out of my back pocket and dramatically showed it to him. He reached for it, but I pulled it back.
"Not until you show me the stuff."
He angrily grunted before digging through his backpack. I hid my smirk when he pulled out a ziplock bag full of coke. Before I could reach for it and arrest him, someone interrupted.
"Get on the ground!"
"NCIS!"
"Both of you, hands on the ground."
"Shit," I mumbled. The second I was surrounded by agents that weren't mine, my agents swarmed the building.
"FBI!"
"Federal agents!"
"Lower your weapons!"
"You lower your weapons!"
I was soon in the middle of an FBI and NCIS standoff. "Son of a. . ." I mumbled under my breath. I pushed down my anger as I turned and was face-to-face with a special NCIS agent.
"Y/N?"
I saw the color drain out of McGee's face when he saw me standing between the two groups of agents.
Andy tried to use the confusion as a distraction but I was faster. When he started to run, I quickly swiped his legs out from under him and got him under control. Once I had him handcuffed, I picked him up and tossed him to one of my agents. I turned around and saw I still had several guns pointed at me.
"Agents," I sighed, turning to my team, "meet NCIS. Special Agents Gibbs, Bishop, Torres and. . . McGee."
"What are you doing here?" Tim asked through his teeth. I let out a deep breath as I moved my jacket aside, showing him and his coworkers my waistband. I watched as McGee's eyes changed when he saw the gun and the badge on my hip.
"What the. . ."
"Is there something you want to tell us, McGee?" Agent Gibbs asked.
"I don't know myself," he mumbled.
I turned around and faced my team. "Can you give us a second? Something tells me NCIS didn't know we were working this case just like how we didn't know they were working this case."
The agents nodded, sending glances toward the NCIS agents. Once they were all gone, I turned toward McGee and his team.
"First, let me apologize, Agent Gibbs," I started. "I was not aware that the Navy was looking into our case."
"We weren't aware that our case was part of an FBI case," Gibbs sighed as he finally put his gun back in the holster. "We were investigating a lieutenant's death."
"A lieutenant?" I asked.
"Lieutenant Chance Taylor."
"Damn," I mumbled. "No one told me he was a Navy Lieutenant."
"Technically, he's not one anymore," Agent Torres said.
"That's interesting, but considering what we knew. . ." I said slowly as I tried to connect this to my case. I looked over to see Tim staring at me with anger in his eyes. "Tim, maybe we should. . ."
"Maybe the two of you can sort this out later," Gibbs suggested but it didn't sound much like a suggestion. "What does the FBI want with Lieutenant Chance Taylor?"
"Before I explain that," I said, feeling Tim's glare on me, "I just want to make it clear that we did not know Taylor was a Navy Lieutenant. If we had, I would've gone to your director right away."
"Really?" Tim scoffed. I ignored the feeling of my heart diving into my stomach.
"Yes," I said firmly. "I know you guys have had some issues in the past with the FBI, but I know the work you all do and I think it's valuable. I would never knowingly step on your toes, Agent Gibbs."
"I believe you, Agent. . ."
"Y/L/N," I finished for Gibbs. I resisted the urge to look at Tim. I didn't think my heart could take the anger in his eyes.
"Agent Y/L/N," Gibbs corrected himself. "Why don't you come back to our offices and we can figure out how our two cases connect?"
I finally looked at Tim to see him looking away, his glare now on something else in the room. I cleared my throat and turned my attention back to Agent Gibbs.
"I think that's a great idea."
* * * * *
As it turns out, NCIS's Lieutenant Taylor was the second in command of the drug cartel I've been chasing. He's been helping build the cartel's range by selling to Navy Petty Officers whenever their ship ported.
Through all the confusion and connection, I haven't had a chance to talk to Tim and explain everything. Once we connected and then proceeded to disconnect our cases, I left NCIS. As soon as I sat down at my desk, the look on Tim's face when he realized who I was popped back into my head.
I leaned back in my chair and ran my fingers through my hair. I already knew what he was probably thinking. I jumped up and quickly went to his apartment. When I got there, Tim wasn't home so I waited out front.
About an hour later, I was sitting on the ground in front of his door when I finally heard footsteps coming down the hallway.
"Y/N," he stuttered when he saw me. "What are you. . ."
"We haven't really had a chance to talk," I started slowly.
"Since FBI Agent Y/L/N interrupted an NCIS case?" He asked passively-aggressively as he forcefully unlocked his apartment and threw the door open.
"Tim," I sighed as I jumped up and followed him inside. I gasped when he angrily spun toward me.
"The FBI," McGee scoffed. "The FBI! You work for the FBI! How long have you worked for the FBI, Y/N?!"
"Almost four years." My answer made him angry.
"You told me that you were in advertising," he shot at me.
"I know," I cringed. "But I didn't have a choice."
"FBI agents don't keep their jobs a secret from the people in their lives," he accused. "You're not the CIA. Unless you are lying to Fornell, too."
"Come on," I sighed. "That's not fair, Tim."
"It's not?!"
"Fornell sends me in undercover," I tried to explain. "Whenever we need eyes on the inside, I'm the one that's sent."
"Why?" He demanded.
"Because I'm a girl," I scoffed. "And young. When I go in, I get ignored. I can walk into a bar and be completely invisible. The FBI loves that, so they always send me. That's why I couldn't tell you. They didn't want to risk my covers being blown."
"That's ridiculous," Tim scoffed. He thought about things for a second before saying, "You never once talked about wanting to join the FBI."
"That's because I didn't think about it," I shrugged. He started to say something but I cut him off, "Look, not all of us knew exactly what we wanted to do once we left high school."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"After we graduated," I sighed, "I didn't know what to do with my life. I never told you this, but I didn't apply to colleges our senior year."
"What do you mean?" He asked, finally calming down.
"You knew from the age of 8 that you were going to go to MIT and do something amazing," I said, walking over and sitting on his couch. "I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I wasn't even sure what college I should go to or what degree I should get. I had no idea what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing, Tim."
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" Tim asked as he joined me on the couch.
"I was embarrassed," I whispered, not looking up from my hands.
"Too embarrassed to tell me?" Tim sighed as he reached over, gently grabbed my chin, and made me look at him. "I could've helped you, Y/N."
"I didn't want to hold you back," I said, my voice breaking. Tim leaned in and gently pressed his lips to mine. When he broke the kiss, he leaned his forehead against mine.
"I could've helped you figure it out," he whispered. My heart sank when he pulled away and I saw the look on his face.
"I swear, Tim, I didn't know that NCIS was working my case," I whispered. "If I had known you guys were focusing on Lieutenant Chance Taylor, I would've reached out and given you everything I had."
"You really didn't know?" He whispered. "You had no idea that we were working on the same case when we. . . The night we. . ."
"I didn't know until you and your team showed up at the drop," I tried to reassure him. "I swear, Tim. I didn't know when I ran into you at the coffee shop. I didn't know as we stayed until you got a call from work. I didn't know when you called me the next day. I didn't know when we went on our date. I didn't know as we went back to your apartment. And I promise, Tim, I didn't know as we spent the night together."
I was about to say more, but Tim grabbed my face and pressed his lips to mine. The second my lips touched his, I threw my arms around him and kissed him back. Without breaking the kiss, Tim laid me down and slightly hovered over me.
I wanted to shut out the world and focus on me and Tim, but something kept bothering me. It wouldn't leave my mind so I broke the kiss.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" I asked, slightly out of breath from the kiss.
"You mean your job at the FBI?" Tim asked.
"Our jobs might overlap," I shrugged. "And I've heard about Gibbs and his rules."
Tim laughed as he sat up, pulling me with him. I sighed as he pulled me into his side and relaxed on the couch. "Gibbs has a rule about coworkers dating, but I'm NCIS and you're FBI. It shouldn't be an issue."
"Are you sure?" I asked, my voice soft. Tim sighed as he tightened his hold on me.
"I'm sure," he said as he leaned down and kissed the top of my head. "As long as we don't have any more accidental run-ins, I think we'll be fine. I mean, we almost shot you today, Y/N. And if we had. . ."
"No more accidental run-ins," I said quickly when his sentence got stuck in his throat. "I promise."
No Way To Know For Sure Part 2
Daniel Sousa x Reader
Masterlist - Part 1 - Join My Taglist!
Written for my personal fic writing challenge for 2024, Sophie's Year of Fic! Featuring a new fic being posted every Friday, all year long :)
Also written for @ghostofskywalker as a part 2 to the fic you let me adopt a while ago! I've had this in my drafts since all that AI stuff and I'm happy to have rediscovered and finished it 😄 Hope you like it!
Fandom: Marvel
Summary: Now that you've decided to move to LA with Daniel, there's a few loose ends left to tie up in New York.
Word Count: 2,174
Category: Fluff, Humor
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I sighed dramatically as I sared straight ahead out the window, watching all the people bustling around the streets and the familiar, giant buildings hovering over them. I'd been gone for some time now, but New York hadn't changed.
Jarvis, currently in the driver's seat of the car, was positively buzzing, and I could tell he was struggling not to say anything. Even the great city of New York couldn't keep me distracted from all the ridiculous energy he was projecting.
"Alright, Mr. Jarvis, spit it out," I said, at last turning from the window to look at my friend. He glanced at me, lips pursed tight to try and hold back a smile before he had to turn his gaze back to the road.
"I'm sorry, it's just... I must admit, I'm rather excited. Since Mr. Stark has been spending more time in Los Angeles, I've missed seeing all of you here in New York. Having you regularly in Los Angeles as well as Rose and Chief Sousa... well, it will be a delight."
A smile made its way onto my face despite my best effots. I'd wanted Daniel to drive me in to the office this morning to put in my transfer request for the LA office, but he had a meeting with an informant he couldn't move. I hadn't really wanted to resort to Jarvis, only because I knew he wouldn't be able to stay calm about my decision, but now I had to admit I was happy to be here with him.
"It'll be wonderful to get to see more of you too, Mr. Jarvis," I said with a smile. "You, me, Ana, and Daniel should set up a regular double date."
"Oh, that would be lovely!" Jarvis turned to give me a big smile as we at last pulled up in front of the New York SSR. He hopped out and ran around to open my door for me, beating me to the punch of opening it myself, something we'd turned into a bit of a competition. "Ana will be delighted at the idea too, I'm sure."
"Maybe we can even invite Howard," I said, my voice serious even though I was cackling in my head. I got out of the car and stood, smirking at Jarvis' less than enthusiastic expression as I continued. "He can bring along whoever he's brought home with him on any given week."
"That may be the single most horrifying suggestion I've heard in my entire life."
I cackled, clapping Jarvis on the shoulder as I walked past him and towards the entrance to the "telephone company".
"Thanks for the ride! I promise I won't let Howard crash any of our couples' nights, unless he finally gets a girlfriend who sticks around for more than a few weeks."
"At this point in Mr. Stark's life, a few days would be impressive," he called after me. I laughed, then turned back at the door to give Jarvis a smile.
"I'll see you back in LA!"
"I'm looking forward to it!"
I smiled and waved before finally heading through the door and back into the familiar hallways of the New York SSR. Daniel would be picking me up later, after I got everything sorted out for my move, and then who knew when I'd next be back in this place and this city. We had plenty of friends here and the other half of the SSR, so it's not like I'd never see the city again, but for the first time since I'd started working here I had no idea when I'd next be back. I tried not to let it get to me, but stepping into the currently-empty bullpen of the place I'd spent so much time in the last few years drove the knife in a little harder.
I'd intentionally arrived before most of the other agents got here, hoping to avoid a lot of hubub about my transfer request. No matter how nostalgic I felt being here, my decision had been made. I loved Daniel and the life I'd started building with Daniel in LA enough that nothing could make me want to leave it. Not even my favorite pizza place on the way between here and my former apartment.
"Well well well. Look what the cat dragged in."
Of course, I couldn't get away with avoiding Chief Jack Thompson, especially not when I had to turn my transfer request papers in to him. He came striding out of his office, a massive grin on his face as he crossed the bullpen towards me.
"Long time no see, Agent."
"I saw you two weeks ago, Jack."
"Yeah, but in LA. You've been on-loan for a while. I haven't seen you as my agent, in New York, in a long time."
I just rolled my eyes. "Yeah, well, enjoy the next half hour then, because as soon as these papers are finalized, I'm officially Daniel's agent."
"Now hold on a minute, I have some serious concerns about you leaving that we need to address before I finalize anything. I mean, is it really appropriate for a chief to be dating one of his own agents? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen if you ask me."
"Jack. You are the one who sent me there, you meddling mother hen, with the exact hope that this would happen. I will literally fight you in the middle of the bullpen if you want to use that against me now."
Jack held up his hands. "Alright, relax. Your transfer's basically already finalized, I just need your signature next to mine. Then you can go run off into the sunset with Sousa and leave the greatest city in the world behind like it's nothing."
"Alright, you went to Ithica for college. At least I'm leaving for another interesting city, even if it's not as good."
"At least we can agree on that last part."
I snorted, but I couldn't totally keep a smile off my face either. Jack and I had actually kind of become friends in the past few months, especially in the wake of Daniel leaving, and I was surprised to find a little ping of sadness in my chest at the thought of leaving him behind with the rest of this city. If you'd told me a few years ago I'd be missing Jack Thompson, I would've laughed in your face.
Jack pulled the transfer papers out of a file on the nearest desk where they'd apparently been waiting for me all morning, setting them down in front of me. In turn, I handed him the papers I'd filled out since I last saw him, then glanced at what was in front of me. True to his word, they only needed my signature to be finalized.
"We're gonna miss you around here," he said, his voice unusually serious. I glanced up to find him holding out a pen to me, a small smile on his face. "Seriously."
"...I'm gonna miss you too, Jack."
We held each other's gaze for a few moments, maybe the first time we'd had a sincere exchange in my entire time working here. Finally, he cleared his throat, looking away as I finally took the pen from his hand.
"Alright, that's enough of that sappy crap. You bring a box to clean out your desk? I don't want to have to waste agency time clearing out whatever garbage you left in there before you went to LA."
"Don't worry, I've got a plan for all my leftover trash and scribbled notes I don't need anymore."
"I don't like the way you said that. What do you-"
"Oh, thank goodness!"
I straightened from signing the documents after finishing the last one to find Peggy coming through the doors into the bullpen, looking slightly more frazzled than usual. She shook her head at me as she approached, dropping her stuff at the base of the desk and putting her hands on her hips.
"I thought I'd missed you. I can't believe you were planning to just duck in and duck out this morning. What were you planning to do if Thompson hadn't called me to tell me when you were coming in? Just leave for Los Angeles without a goodbye?"
"Actually, Daniel and I were planning to invite the two of you to dinner tonight for a real goodbye. I'm just trying to avoid causing a scene in the middle of the bullpen, in the middle of the SSR's workday."
Peggy and Jack both scoffed, the sounds eerily similar. I raised an eyebrow, but Jack leaned in and snatched the papers off my desk before I could comment.
"Alright, I'm gonna go process these since you don't want to hang around here. By the time you're done with your desk, I'll be done with these."
I nodded, watching Jack's back as he headed back into his office. As soon as he disappeared through the doorway, I turned back to Peggy.
"I need you to get him out of his office for, like, five minutes between when I finish cleaning out my desk and when I head out of here. I'm gonna put all the papers and stuff I don't need in his desk."
Peggy grinned. "I'll make sure you have the window of opportunity you need."
"I knew I could count on you."
We snuck a high-five before Jack could notice, then I headed over my desk to start the packing process in earnest. There really wasn't much I needed to get, since I'd brought most of the things I needed with me to LA the first time, but a handful of the things I'd collected found a temporary home in my bag. Even better, the stack of trash I was planning to stick in Jack's office was substantial, and just like Peggy'd promised, she dragged Jack away from his desk long enough to give me just the opening I needed.
I stepped out of his office and back into the bullpen after finishing my mission, and a moment later, Peggy and Jack came around the corner to join me. I smiled at the both of them.
"Desk's been cleared. Papers are done. I think... I'm officially all finished up here."
"You sure I'm not going to find some trash you forgot about when I try to put somebody else at your desk?" Jack asked, hands on his hips. I rolled my eyes and sighed, responding without missing a beat.
"Of course not, Jack. You're not going to find any forgotten trash in my desk. Come on."
All true, technically. Peggy grinned at me, but I managed to keep a straight face as Jack put his hands on his hips and sighed.
"...I guess this is it, then, huh?"
"I guess it is."
I sighed, looking around at the empty bullpen one last time. I hadn't been working out of this office for a while now, and it's not like I'd never be back. But something about having my desk packed, ready to head out the door with the last of my roots pulled up still hit me a bit.
"I'm... gonna miss you guys," I said, shaking my head as I turned back to my two friends. Jack rolled his eyes, since we'd already exhausted his reserve of sincerity for the day, but Peggy gave me a soft smile.
"We'll miss you too. And you can expect regular visits from us in the winter, when we're sick of the snow and need to use our friends for access to the sunshine in Los Angeles."
I grinned. "As long as you promise to bring real pizza with you whenever you visit."
"Deal."
We shared a smile, and thankfully, before any of us could get any sappier, Daniel walked through the door, his meeting with his contact apparently over with.
"Hey," he said, giviing me a smile as he walked over to join us. He leaned in to give me a quick kiss, then pulled back with a smile. "You ready to go? Our favorite breakfast place is waiting for us."
I smiled, then gave Daniel a nod. We were technically on vacation, so we'd planned to spend the rest of our day on a tour of all of our favorite places in New York city.
"We'll see you guys for dinner tonight, right?" Daniel asked as he took my hand, the two of us taking a few steps towards the door.
"As long as you're buying," called Jack, and Peggy nodded. Daniel shot him a thumbs up as I rolled my eyes, and just like that, Daniel and I were standing on the threshold of the New York SSR.
"You ready?" Daniel asked, leaning in to whisper to me. I took a deep breath, sparing one last moment of reminiscing for the place I'd spent so much of my life in over the last few years, then turned to Daniel with a smile.
"Yeah. I'm ready."
He smiled back at me, giving my hand a quick squeeze before we turned our backs on the office, officially and completely moving forward together. It still stung a little to be leaving, but not nearly as badly as it could've, since I knew and loved where I was heading.
